After confirming speaker is not getting the audio, need to work toward the audio output. Your next stop will be the audio output from the power amplifier (if there is one), or if the audio is coming out of the car radio. If audio is at the source output (or amp out), you have a broken wire between the source and the speaker. Bypass this wire to test.

1995 to 1997 tercel? no repair manual sold. noy by chilton or haynes. there's supposed to be a detailed manual by toyota, sold only to repair shops, hard to get and it costs hundreds. definitely not any download version i've ever heard of.
1996 was before corporations were really into downloadable anything.
