SOURCE: steps for replacing wiper motor for 1998 VW Jetta

remove wipers. remove plastic covering by loosening plastic screws first. unplug wiper motor wires. there are about three 10mm nuts at the motor location and you also have to unscrew the big nuts that were below the wipers when you unscrewed them. replacement is reversal.

SOURCE: Rear wiper motor not working

most likely the wiper motor is bad the second wire sould be a ground if you set meter to ohms you sould be able to get a low resistance to any good ground on the vehicle if the hot wire is hot any time key is on the bcm is controling the ground to operate moter and you should have a steady continuity on the ground side with switch on the fast postion an it will read on and off in the intermitant postion if both wires test good motor is bad when you replace motor let it cycle and shut it off before installing the arm on it

SOURCE: looking wiring diagram 12/72 vw

Yes 12/72 is a 73 model wiring diagram.I dont think it maters because there were no changes in those cars from the late 50s till 78.They did not have a/c,cruise,power seats, power door locks,cd changers or gps. There was never much wiring to these cars and that was part of the concept, fewer parts means less chance of a break down.Air dont boil and air dont freeze.Have a great day!

1967 vw beetle, misfirering whsn trying to start it

'67 Beetles did not have stock fuel-injected systems. Misfires might be related to spark plug wires either being cracked (if they're old) or being out of order from the distributor cap to the spark plugs. If you have taken off the distributor cap or someone else has done it recently, that may be the source of the misfiring.

Dont know what amp to put where in my 1967 vw bug fuse box

According to the information that I have been able to find, they were all 8A fuses originally. It's never been that way in any of the VW's that I have ever owned, but here is a page from the original 1967 VW owner's manual. It shows fuse position, but only recommends that the driver carry spare 8A fuses. There is no mention of any other fuses.

I have a 1990 Lumina, my wipers don't work. I have changed the motor and the fuse is good. I would like know what other things I can look for?

Hello! If you have a volt meter, check the following points for +12 volts...At the wiper motor assembly connector...Check Pin A Purple wire...Pin B Dark/Green..
Turn wiper switch to low and measure both pins...Do the same with switch on high...If +12 volts is not present the wiper switch is defective...If +12 volts is present at both switch positions the ground feed to the wiper motor is open...Ground is the Black wire on Pin C...Guru...Saailer

Repair rear '67 Beetle suspension

1967 VW beetles had a type of trailing arm suspension, which gave some amount of independence between the two sides. The axle tube, with brake plate and bearings, coming from the transaxle, attached to the trailing arm suspension. The only part that normally had to be replaced in the rear suspension were the shock absorbers. In 1967 they were NOT Macpherson struts, so they are just bolted on and easy to change.

The windscrean wippers only work on one speed then get stuck

when the wiper stop and malfunction leave the car on and wiper switch on then proceed to unplug the wiper motor plug and using a voltmeter set on DC 10 amp check the plug for 12 - 14 volts, ground the negative probe to a nut or a suitable ground while using the positive probe on voltmeter to insert into each plug terminals one of the terminals inside of the plug should have the 12 volts present if no voltage is present on any of the plug's wires replace the wiper switch, if voltage is present the wiper motor is bad.

Wipers not working at all and the fuse is ok on my vw jetta

Unplug wires at the motor. Then with the wipers switched on check for a 12 volt reading. If you are getting 12 volts then your wiper motor needs replacing If your not getting 12 volts then the switch is faulty replace it.Good luck.

Front wipers don't work

Winshield wipers inoperative in all switch positions:

Does your windshield washer work? Check circuit breaker in fuse panel. If it is good then you may have either a bad wiper motor or switch. If you have a volt meter check the white wire (going off 93 wiring color code) on wiper motor connector with switch in low to see if you have 12 volts. If you have 12 volts then you may have a bad wiper motor. If you don't then you may have a bad switch. Hope this helps.
