Question about Ford Focus

1 Answer

I have a 2001 Ford Focus. I have a light that comes on intermittantly. It has a picture of a person in the seat with a ball in front of them I think this is trying to indicate an air-bag problem but I am not sure. There are no currnet DTC'S and no history of any codes for this vehicle. Please advise me on this situation. Lou

It's the Airbag system warning light. If there are no DTC codes, then charge correctly the car battery. The Airbag system is sensible regarding the battery voltage! Also verify the electrical airbag cable & connections under driver's and passenger's seats, which could be disturbeb when car was cleaned inside.

Ticking ford focus

You need to be certain that the intake manifold is completely free of parts/remnants of the "old" valve seat that shattered. If you do not clean and blow out the intake manifold with compressed air before installing in on the new head, chunks of the old seat can and likely will find their way back into the combustion chamber.

Light is on the dashboard. looks like a person sitting in a seat with a seatbelt on , and a round circle thing like a bll, the view is from the side. what does this mean?

It is telling you that either your seat belt is not on or your passengers is not on. There is a sensor inside the seat belt buckle that tells the car you are wearing it. If the passenger seat senses the weight of a person (or big dog) and they don't have the buckle on then the light will come on. If the seat belts are both buckled in then you must have a bad sensor on the buckle.

Front seat stays in the reclined postion..

The seat position is changed through the use of a cable that runs through a flexible tunnel, under the seat. In one case that I'm aware of, this cable got stuck around a projecting seat spring under the seat. When the seat was reclined and moved backward or forward, the cable caught on the seat spring and the seat had insufficient slack in the cable to release from the reclined position.
