Question about 1991 Honda Accord

Transmission problem When the car starts running in D3 or D4, it keeps the speed until the second shift enters, the car looses the power and starts to desacelerate automatically even when you hold down the accelerator pedal, then suddenly the rpm starts again with high speed, it seems that the transmission changes to the fourth shift.

the car start run shift D,start make a noice, and don't speed fast, like it's don't have force to run,and the same when I change shift one and two

transmission stops working after a while with rpm going up and mph going down. If i put in 3 it will run for a little while and d light will blink. If the car is turned off and started again it will run fine for a few miles and the same problem will happen. Again if turned off will start and run for a while.

If the S light is blinking, this indicates that there is an electrical problem somewhere it the TCM circuit. I have included a link that takes you to an excellent page which shows you how to read the codes and what they mean.
http://home.earthlink.net/~michaelpkeefe/HowTo_Codes.htm
Also, The top solenoids are for the lockup clutch and the bottom ones are the shift solenoids.
As for the Immobilizer causing problems, if it was incorrectly wired to the TCM, then it could possibly cause a problem.

MY 1990 HONDA ACCORD (2.2L.){auto} SPORT LIGHT FLASHES . IS THIS RELATED TO MY UPSHIFT & LOCK-UP SOLENOIDS WEARING OUT? I NEVER HAD IT CODED. COULD THERE BE SOMETHING ELSE WRONG? WHICH SOLENOID IS IT WHEN YOU LOOK AT YOUR TRANSMISSION: THE TOP ONES OR THE BOTTOM ONES, I KNOW THE YELLOW&GREEN WIRES ARE FOR REVERSE LIGHTS.. RECENTLY I HAD A M-6000 IMMOBILIZER PUT IN . WOULD THIS CAUSE A PROBLEM? SHOULD I DISCONNECT THE BATTERY FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES? THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT RM.WPG,MB

Which gear do you drive in when you drive d4,d3,2,or 1

D4, that is overdrive in a 4 speed automatic. It should go into 4th gear at about 45 mph, although you may not feel it shift. The only reason to use D3 is if you are driving slow, like in city traffic, and the D4 keeps shifting in and out (from 4th to 3rd and back), as if it is "hunting gears". Most people just put it in D4 and drive away.

When do I use the d 5 gear in acura 2003 tl 3.2 liter

Pretty much all the time!

D3, D4, and D5 are all just *DRIVE* like on any automatic transmission, EXCEPT
that the number next to the D is the "highest gear the automatic transmission will go into".
The Acura just gives you a choice, in case you don't want to go into a higher gear (like if it's slippery traction or a steep hill, etc.)

1 means: Manual gear. FIRST GEAR ONLY.
2 means: Manual gear. SECOND GEAR ONLY.
D3 means: Use automatic transmission, but engine will never shift above 3rd gear.
D4 means: Use automatic transmission, but engine will never shift above 4th gear.
D5 means: Use automatic transmission, but engine will never shift above 5th gear.

What gear can I used for highway D3 or D4

use d4. d4 is for normal driving. d3 is to down shift the transmission in case you wanna pass. use d3 only if you want to down shift because if you leave your car in d3 on the highway, it doesnt allow the 4th gear to engage, causing your engine to run at higher revs, not only wasting more gas but also making your engines life last less. hope this helps. if you need more help, let me know. goodluck

Transmission sounds like its slippping is D4 going out and is it safe to drive in D3

should be safe to drive in d3, you just wont get very good gas mileage on the highway and you'll be running higher rpm at highway speeds

Do i drive in in d4 or d3

D4 is what you want to drive in unless you are pulling something or have a large load in the vehicle.

When you are in d3, it does not allow the transmission to shift into 4th gear.

Transmission not shifting on its own.

check the shift solenoids by using a OHM METER .the both solenoid connectors has 2 terminals 1 and 2 .take ohm meter measure terminal 1 resistance to body ground it should be 14-30 ohms.if less or more replace it.then number 2 terminal to ground.do both the connectors that you disconnect.they should be 14-30 ohms.if less or more replace them.if they check out good .your valve body in transmission is going have to be removed.
