Question about 2006 Pontiac Montana SV6

1 Answer

My 2006 Pontiac Montana driver side passenger door will close automatically with the push of either the overhead/pillar button BUT will 'pop' out at the end of its cycle. The door stays in the closed position--and locks shut but the back part of the door is not flush with the back panel and not completely in the closed position. The door motor seems to run longer on this side and the door never fully shuts unless I manually hold the back of the door closed. What do I have to do to make it shut right when the automatic buttons are pushed? Mike

Start out by wiping the door with dielectrical grease at the contact pins and then clean the contacts on the door and on the vertical beam After you do those things, recalibrate the door

How do I adjust the drivers door on a 2006 pontiac montana SV6 air is leaking around the door.

Take the fender off. then loosen the door hinge bolts. Move the door left or right up or down in or out until the crack between the door and the pillar looks straight and even. Then do the same with the fender. Chances are the door hinges need replacing.

Automatic side door wont work automatic

Check the electrical spring connectors at the door, and the contacts at the door pillar. They are notorious for corrosion. Take some steel wool or very fine sand paper, rub against the contact areas until a copper color returns. The pillar contacts get corrosion and very poor continuity thru the connector. The spring contacts in the door can also get corrosion on the back side at the connector, try cleaning them on the outside first before attempting to remove door panel.

I own a 2007 montana and had it for 1 month now ..It keeps making a ding ding ding chime while driving ..The passengers rear door is automatic and when I press the button it makes the same noise but when...

1. Turn off the overhead over-ride switch. Drive again. Do the chimes stop? If yes, the door is not closing properly due to the door contacts. Clean them yourself or have them serviced.
2. If the chimes did not stop in step 1. above, it's not likely the door but rather something else.
3. Chimes occur for many reasons. Suggest checking - a. are the rear back-up warning sensors blocked/dirty? b. any other lights on the dash like oil, abs, airbag, etc? c. passenger side airbag disabled - something heavy placed in passenger seat?

In my experience, it's the automatic door contacts. We have a long history of problems with these auto doors, that are still not resolved. problems all throughout the warranty period, and now into the extended warranty period. We must unite and get GM to resolve the quality of these doors. My next step (next incident) is going to be to have the dealership inspect the entire wiring system.

2001 pontiac montana, how do you close an automatic passengers side window manually

You're gonna have to take the door panel off and unbolt the window from the track to get it raised up, if you go to that trouble you may as well fix it while you are in there.

I have a 99 montana passenger side sliding door dont work. Hit either button all it does is clicks and motor seems to be fine.. I went to junk yard bought complete new motor and everything that comes...

I would check the overhead buttons there are two one opens the door, and the other beside it that shows the van crossed out, disables the electric sliding door feature. try playing with that, Also remember, that vehicle must be in PARK for the electric sliding door to open. Make sure the power lock on that door is working, and check the child safety lock when you have it open by the doors catch. Hope that Helps You.

1999 Pontiac Montana passenger sliding door stopped working.

Verify the wiring harness which passes under plastic step & carpet at front passenger side. This wiring harness goes from the firewall to the pillar on the right side and some have crimped connectors in them to act as junction between two or more wires (ususlly the 12volt feed), which deteriorate with time, especially with Salt & Water. Then the electric sliding door stops working and even driver the electric seat can loose power.
