Question about 1992 Ford Thunderbird
Try a new cable or a new oddometer
Posted on Oct 05, 2010
The speedometer unit is manufactured by VDO on this vehicle. It is a electronically controlled from a signal from the transmission called the vehicle speed sensor or (VSS). If the speedometer is working fine then the VSS is OK. if the odometer is not working at all, the solution if to either send it in to a speedometer repair company that specializes in repairing these instruments (check internet for repair shops) or replace the speedometer with a brand new one. Hope this helps. M. Davis, ASE Master Automobile Technician
