Question about 1987 Jeep Cherokee
I got hit in the passenger front quarter panel and the car stopped running. I no longer have power going to my distributor and i was wondering what would cause it to not have power to the distributor. Is there anyway that i can somehow hotwire the distributor to get the car to fire? i have 8 volts to the distributor
How is wired the ignition coil on cherokee laredo 1987 4WD 4.0, I remove it an I do not know how to wire it!

A lot of the wiring runs behind the front bumper on the right, these probably got cut when you got hit. I had a similiar problem, Pulled the bumper spliced the cut wires and the engine started and ran fine.

Is the voltageon your battery still above 12.5 volts if not depending on the impact of the collision your battery plates might have touched and shorted out so check the voltage at the battery otherwise find out what the voltage should be at the distributer i am pretty sure that it is more than 8 volts if so trace that wire and see if there is any problems there check your dist ground aswell.
