If you have enough cable just strip it and replace terminals, if not, follow the ground cable to where is holded by a bolt and replace it from there, you can do the same with the red wire, if you buy new wires they will come at the right lenght...

Went hunting came back and parked 04 dakota in yard went to start wont start, hooked jumper cables up to it and it started but as soon as i took it off it died. so i took the alternator in to have it...

Most likely:
1. The battery has a dead cell.
2. The battery terminals need to be cleaned. Remove both battery cables and clean cable clamps and battery terminals. May not need a boost.
3. The negative cable is loose where it is connected to engine ground. Or damaged, corroded, or otherwise not making a good connection.

How to remove battery in 1992 Toyota Corona so it can be recharged

(1) Loosen screw on negative ( - ) terminal clamp, lift negative cable off terminal, and put cable end somewhere where it can't touch the battery. This stops the positive terminal from being "live" with respect to the rest of the car.

(2) Lift plastic cover from positive ( + ) terminal. Loosen screw on positive terminal clamp, while making sure your screwdriver is nowhere near the negative terminal at all times. Lift positive cable off terminal, and put cable end somewhere where it can't touch the battery.

(3) Loosen the butterfly nuts over the clamp that holds the battery to the tray. One butterfly nut will have to come off completely, the other can stay on so you don't lose the clamp down the middle of the engine. Swing the clamp off to one side.

(4) Lift the battery out of the tray, keeping it upright at all times.

To reinstall the battery, follow the above steps in reverse order.

04 gto blinkers did a cont check on the left side

The wire needs to be replaced - splice it in five inches from the back and run new wire up to fuse and splice it in five inches from the fuse. This should solve your problem...if there is no continuity on the wire than the wire is bad.

2003 Saturn L200- sometimes when you turn the key and try to start there is nothing, turn the key again and the car starts. smoetimes this happens 2 or 3 times a day?

HI, i recommend checking the battery cables and battery posts as well. make sure the cables are screwed tight on the post and there is no visible corrosion on the battery terminals as well.

When checking the cables, make sure the negative cable is tightly secured and screwed down tight. maker sure the positive cable is in god position as well.

There is a wire on the starter that can become loose over time so, slide under this car and check the starter wires as well for tight and secure fit also.

If the battery terminals are free of corrosion and the cables are secured and screwed to there respective connections tightly, i will then recommend you move your inspection to the ignition switch inside the car.

Most likely, this will be the problem spot if everything above checks out ok.

At this point, i suggest replacing the entire ignition switch at this point.

Please rate and god bless:)

Where is the auto starter?

when you replaced the starter did you ensure the battery cables and terminals were clean? if not driving it that way may have hampered your alternator's ability to properly charge your new battery. i would make sure they were clean and tight then charge the battery and try again. the starter is located on the driver side of the engine on the bottom. disconnect your battery negative terminal before removing the starter.
