The thermostat is on the fan actuator, the fuse may be on the fuse strip or box, either under the dashboard or under the hood, close to the windshield.
There should be a brake light switch under the dashboard, right around the brake pedal. It should be pretty straightforward to remove it and replace it with a new one.
wich fuse, more specific, maybe the problem is with the electrical circuit on the tun lights switc, or it could be on the lights bulbs on the back of the car
Many older Ford trucks with lower trim levels did not have rear sway bars. I have an 87 Ranger XLT that has a rear sway bar, my one buddy has an 88 XL without one. Both truck suspensions are stock.
That year Explorer was notorius for rear ABS sensors going bad. If your ABS light is on as well this may be your problem. Also they were notorious for 4WD modules going bad. This problem is more expensive. I would advise you to have it checked on a computer to see what codes you have.
I had same problem on my 2002 explorer. Its either the computer module, or the electric solenoid on the transfer case. In my case it was both. The computer module I had done twice in 14 months.
