Some mechanic you got. I would have left the vehicle and have them repair it
You have or had an ABS Light on. You have a malfunction in that system. Usually a Wheel Speed Sensor.
Who ever works on it, can follow a trouble chart, testing along the way, and then repair, with your authorization.

The mechanic has identified the defective sensor that caused the ABS indicator to turn on. He is trying to save you from spending a lot of money replacing sensors that are OK.

Each wheel has a sensor. Theres more to it than the sensors. have the repair shop check it over for you and recommend repairs.

Same ABS problem with my 2006 Pacifica

Go to a diffrent mechanic! There is only one light for your ABS and thats on your dash. If the light came on after the brakes were installed, I would suspect that your mechanic didn't open the bleeder screw on the calipers before depressing the piston. This would force fluid back to the ABS acumulator, setting off the light.

Abs light is on and i need to turn it off

You need to fix the problem, and the ABS light will go out on it's own. Get it checked, then fix it yourself if you want. You need a good scan tool to get the codes though.

2006 Chrysler Pacifica touring abs light on stays on

Hi. this light is a warning that concerns the ABS sensor and mechanism assembly. there is a central module and connecting sensors that are attached to each axle/rotor. If any of the sensors become unstable or starts to malfunction, the main module will detect this anomaly and it will trip the light via, the ECM.

I recommend taking this vehicle in so that the ABS techs can diagnosis this issue and they can pin point which sensor or mechanism is malfunctioning.

You vehicle seems to operate in a normal manner at this point but, you will actually have to be in a hard braking situation in order to experience this malfunctions results. If you where to initiate a hard brake while the ABS system is in safe mode(light on), your vehicle would simply lock up. It would not provide the ABS actions due to this malfunction that is evident at this point.

Please rate and god bless:)
