Question about 1999 Isuzu Rodeo

I have a 1999 isuzu rodeo ls 3.2l auto 4x4 with a too fast idle speed (2400 rpm) i took it to a repair facility and they replace the mass air flow sensor it run ok but after a short period of time it has the same problem again about (300 miles after), i took it back and now i been told that it needs a new pcm

    Get a second opinion. It might just be a loose vacuum hose or the IAC sticking. You really need another reputable shop look at it. Those particular PCM's rarely go out.

Check vacuum leaks,throttle position sensor ect.sticking throttle cable?

Do you know the OBDII codes? I just had to replace my Mass Air Flow sensor, it seems to have fixed my problems. But check the error codes.

It is probably the mass air flow sensor, you can try cleaning the small wire inside it (windex works the best) but chances are it will fault again soon after. replacing it is your best option.

Engine will not idle, stalls at stop lights etc - EGR code


To me if the engine will not idel and stall once you have stopped, that points to an IAC (Idle Air Control sensor) which is located on your throttle body.  The part is very easy to get to and changes out pretty quickly.  Hope this helps.  Thanks for an honest rating and for using FixYa!
