If the transmission is staying in second gear ( limp mode ) at the same time, the problem is the output speed sensor on the transmission.

Take it to parts store and get trouble code. I think a sensor went out in the transmission. Doest sound bad but should hook up to diagnostic took soon to make sure

I have a 2000 Chrysler Cirrus. Check engine light came on and it has been just losing power.

Yes, the misses are cutting your power in half. The cylinders in the back half of the engine are not firing. The problem must be diagnosed to estimate repair costs. Possible causes are
1. Injector wiring harness cut or disconnected.
2. Major intake manifold gasket leak.
3. Camshaft slipped timing.

I have listed these in order of cost to repair, so have someone check for these conditions in the order above.

The instrument cluster on my 2000 Chrysler Cirrus doesn't work

A mechanic would test the power and ground circuits at the cluster plug, but it may be tough to fix if you can't make the problem happen on demand.

Engine light on trany not ******** and speedo not workin

IT IS CAUSED BY A VARIABLE SPEED SENSOR! THE SENSOR IS LOCATED ON TOP OF YOUR TRANNY! IT WILL HAVE A TWO WIRE PLUG GOING TO IT, AND ONE BOLT HOLDING IT ON! IF YOU TRY A CODE READER, YOU SHOULD HAVE A CODE OF P0500!

2000 chrysler cirrus, oil light flickers and stays on when car stopped. goes off when driving

hi this could be a few things, first the obviouse one, have you checked to see if the oil in the engine is at the right level, secondly, the oil pump might be about to give in, you will have to get it checked out, thirdly, oil pressure switch if none of the abouve are apparent, then it might be the big ends ( crank shaft where the piston rods connect to it) might be worn , sometimes this will also have a knocking noise with it, but not all the time...hope this helps

2000 chrysler cirrus problems

I have the same problem with great shaking while stopped idling, but no engine light. It is worse when cold and worse when in gear. I have a 1999 Cirrus with the 2.4L engine. It works great and there are no error codes. What I have discovered is that there is something called a flex plate that goes between the torque converter and flywheel and it was cracked. It must be easy to access to inspect (more work to repair though) as the garage didn't charge me for the diagnosis. They said that the crankshaft rear seal was also pushing out. You can do both at the same time once you get it apart.

Our Chrysler Cirrus 2000, developed a very rough idle. There are times at stop lights etc. when I feel like the car is going to die. Sometime when we start the car, we can smell gas. The check engine light...

It had a heart attack!!. Sounds like a fuel line leak under the hood. Usually if something fails that will cause higher emissions the check engine light is supposed to turn ON. Seems like that feature has also failed.

Take it to a good mechanic before it catches fire.
