My 2001 Ford Windstar has been jerking and shakeing. The worst is 40 mph and around 60mph. Tested it at O'Reillys and it said misfire Cylinder 2. To it to Mechanic said its coil pack 250.00. Asked a friend to change it he did. It still shakes maybe worse. The wires and plugs looked good

You still need to replace the plugs and wires regardless of the visual appearance. If it persists then a compression test and fuel injector swap is needed. If it persists then more expensive parts and tests are needed to see if it s internal engine issue or lean running issue or clogged EGR port.

engine lights mostly only report on major problems in engine and transmissions
run the fault codes to check for other sensor problems

Have the cylinders compression checked. if compression is low(-25% or more) you may have bad rings, leaking valves, or (worst case) blown pistons.

2001 chrysler town country shakes running at 40mph but stops shaking when it reaches 60mph

Could be a tire out of balance, a drive axle, or something in the engine.
Is the check engine light on ?
Would it shake if you were coasting down a hill at 40 or 50 mph ?

Cylinder misfire on #5 on 2001 ford windstar

I've been having this same problem, it's been bugging me for months, then it came to me out of the blue this afternoon. The DPFE sensor which replaces the MAP sensor on new vehicles. If it goes bad it can cause misfires and a lean situation. So I unplugged it this afternoon, no misfire sense

have your injectors cleaned, if they are clogged it can cause sputtering and plug misfiring. You can try putting some Lucas fuel treatment in your tank, but it sounds like its time to have them cleaned.

the shaking can, and most likely is, caused by the tires being out of balance.

2003 navigator and right around 60mph i get a wicked shake or **** in the car. i think it may be a mis fire on the cylinder but not sure

Had the same problem, if it sputters/jerks around 50-60MPH with your foot slightly on the accelerator, replace all 8 COPs(Ignition coil over plug) and sparkplugs....It will get worst and end up ditching you!! NOTE: Make sure if you replace the sparkplugs, that the you or your mechanic works on the motor COLD and are very careful removing and replacing them. These 5.4L on 97-04 models are known for very little plug threading, therefore ejecting the plug out of the motor. This will result in major engine damage. Hopefully this helps

2001 Honda Odyssey 3000cc engine gave me the "shakes". Turns out one of the Ignition Coils failed rendering the spark plug useless. Change with part number 30520-p8e-a01and now runs normally.
