Go to Autozone or similar business and have them check the fuel pressure. You may need to replace the fuel filter and maybe the fuel pump. This doesn't sound like a computer problem. A lesser possibility is a plugged exhaust system--maybe the catalytic converter.

the fuel filter, fuel pump, and MAF all have been changed, how would i know if the computer is bad, we just bought this tonight, no check engine lights are on ( not sure if they work or not) we bought it for our son, when it is running you can smell strong gas smell , just cant press on pedal fast but it does run and go good once up to speed.

The 'check engine' light should come on when the key is first turned on. Take the car to AutoZone or similar business that offers free computer scans to look for any possible trouble codes. This is a pre-OBII computer, so it will not be quite as comprehensive as vehicles built after '96. In any case, if nothing shows on the scan, you will have to 'wing it', as they say. The smell of fuel indicates a serious leak somewhere, so be careful about fire and don't keep the car inside till repaired. I still believe that you have a fuel delivery problem to the engine. The fuel leak and lack of delivery of fuel to the engine may involve the same component. Do a careful search around the entire upper engine area looking for a wet spot. It may be something like a flexible hose that has blocked internally and leaking as well. Lay some newspapers under the engine to see if they get spotted with fuel. Have you spoken with the former owners about the problem and what they may have tried to rectify the trouble. I'm assuming this is a multi-port fuel-injected engine. Remove one spark plug to check the condition of the inner insulator--black soot indicates excess fuel, white or blistered looking indicates lean running, tan color shows ideal running, and an oily crust indicates oil consumption. Make sure the air cleaner is in good shape. Hope some of this helps!

Vehicle starts then stalls out like it is out of gas then will not start. let sit for awhile then starts and runs for a minute or so then stalls out again.

Sounds as if your fuel pump is not operating correctly are has gone on the fritz. Of course it also could be your fuel line filter has been clogged up to the point of not letting the fuel flow. I changed two fuel pumps in a ford until I checked the fuel line filter and found it clogged. What it would do was to start and run at low speeds for a few miles, but when I accelerated it would force the gunk in the fuel line filter up to the end and block the gas flow. When I would let it sit for about ten minutes, gravity took over and settled the gunk in the lower part of the filter and fuel would flow as long as the fuel pressure was low.

Check the fuel filter first, then the fuel pump. I think that all of the fuel pumps are now in the gas tank and is a dickens to replace.

1993 Sidekick: reset check engine light...

you know about the "Hidden switch" don't you, its a switch in the earlier model suzukis. It's located between the steering column and the speaker on the left end of the dash, just reach under the dash and feel for it, or you can take the speaker out and it's on the right side of the speaker hole.

1992 sidekick jx 1.6 liter eng sohc idels low at times lacks power when pushing on gas pedal and stalls when stopping

Try adjusting the idle speed to specification. Try also to check for leaks in your intake manifold. Check also the valve clearance. If all checks are alright, have somebody look into your emission system components.

Check if you put back all the air (vacuum hoses) hoses to their proper places. You might inter change them making the EGR valve open. Also check your fuel filter and fuel injectors.

1990 Suzuki Sidekick problem

It sounds like the idle speed actuator is part of the issue. I would also have the exaust inspected for a blocked catalytic converter.
