I have a couple of diagrams that I could not sent you because this site only allows images of 150k or less. Please provide an email address to send them to. And I also have a question, your vehicle is a 04 chevy 2500HD with a 6.6 L engine??
Basically all the back up lights work the same, when the shift selector is put in reverse, back up switch sends the signal to the back up lights. So all the back up wiring diagrams are similar.

The right location of the Back-Up Light sensor is refer directly at the year and model of the vehicle; send us details about your year and modet to look it.

If you changed the fuses and bulbs and still nothing, its the reverse switch thats on the tranny. First try it screws in on right side of tramission and you will need a 7/8 inch deep socket to remove it. You may be able to clean the old one once it is removed. There is a little ball thatgets dirty and may you can get by with cleaning it.

Keep in touch.

Backup lights out bulbs ok

its just 2 parts , not counting wires, fuse or dead battery.
car runs? Head lights work? at same time?

the switch is bad.
or the bulbs are bad.
the A/T car (auto not stick)
the PRNDL prindle switch does this.
did you try wiggle the lever in REV. with person 2 behind you watching.
did the lamps flash,? bingo bad PRNDL.

with a Volt meter, any (1920 to now) you check the voltage
at the PRNDL, , 12v in , and
0v out , in reverse is bad switch.
1-10v out is a short in the line, (less that 11volts is a short)
12v out is good, your lamps are bad, unplugged . or cut.
top hard fail here is some hack job (uhaul infamous) cut the wires all
up and used wire nuts (illegal on cars) an fails hard.

Reverse lights stuck on 2002 acura tls

the reverse light switch is broken.
we call this switch on A/T tranny, the PRNDL, "Prindle"
its stuck at R
or is trailer hitch wiring from H3LL. (just a glance there and .....)

on M/T tranny car is called the REverse switch. a single switch and vastly cheaper.

Why my shifter indicator is not coming on?

if no shift indicatorthen it might be a cluster issue. Try replacing the cluster or have the dealer reprogram it for you. The shift indicator is a part of the wiring harness associated with the 'Prindle switch' on the driver's side of the transmission. If the wiring harness is fine and the cluster is reprogrammed and the issue still exists, then just replace the Prindle Switch. When removing the wires, make sure to heat up the wiring harness plugs with a lighter for about 10 seconds before trying to pull it out. The connectors come from the factory with this sticky sealant stuff that is like glue when it is cold...

When you turn on headlight switch, the running lights come on but not the headlights. I have the lights hooked up on a toggle switch and they work fine that way. I have tried changing out the headlight...

have you checked your dimmer sw, sometimes this is it...did the hd lite problem show up when you put the toggle on, if so look for a ground....also trace the red wire from the head lites to a junction where the lites get their voltage....good luck

Reverse lights dont work.escort van.1.8 none turbo.2002.

With engine off and key on, emergency brake set, place the gear selector in reverse, using a volt ohm meter check for voltage at bulb terminals. If voltage is present then the switch is working and the wiring to the lamp is good. Next check the other terminal with the ohmmeter to ground for connection. Sounds like a bad ground.

ASE Mechanic:
with out any schematics you can trace these wires down by finding the reverse lights, and disconnecting the bulb and installing a test light, and with a buddy put in reverse while you check to see which wire gets hot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
