hello timing takes some experience from what your explaining sounds like your on the wrong compression stroke what you need to do is pull #1 spark plug while someone clicks not start put your thumb over until you feel compression push off then get a screw driver put into the cylinder you want to see were the pistons at you want it almost at the top now go to your timing mark at your crank pulley your pointer should be turned to tdc re align your camshaft marks reinstall belt turn motor by hand or click turn recheck lineup of marks if okay reinstall plug try to start goodluck

SOURCE: check automatic transmission fluid level

Dipstick is to the left of the engine. Should be a small yellow dipstick. Add fluid through the dipstick hole. The vehicle should be running when you do this. It is best to have driven at least 20 miles before adding trans fluid so everything has had time to get hot.

SOURCE: where is my fluid fill on a manual transmission

Manual transmissions often have a drain plug on the bottom and a fill plug on the side. Full mark is usually to the bottom of the fill hole, so fill till just starts to overflow. To check how full before you begin dip your little finger in to see if you can touch the oil.

Check transmission fluid

The most common transmission problem on a Nissan pickup is operating the truck with the transmission fluid low. Nissan owners needs to pull the dip-stick and see if the level is low. The fluid level must be checked when the truck engine is idling. Nissan pickup owners also need to look at the color of the fluid and see if it needs to be changed or just leveled off. The color must be transparent and not black or brownish in color. The owner must also smell the transmission fluid to see if the fluid smells burnt. If the transmission fluid smells burnt, then the transmission fluid must be changed as soon as possible. Over-filling the transmission fluid level also creates Nissan pickup transmission problems.

I have a 1993 nissan pickup with manual transmission.my question is how do i bleed clutch fluid and fill transmission fluid?

on the side of the gearbox is a filler plug about halfway up,then fill with EP90 ,bleeding clutch isnt a problem just do it like the brakes ,assistant inside to push and hold pedal down slacken bleed nipple ,then tighten and assistant lets clutch pedal up wait 5 seconds then repeat ,if its really obstinate then using a bar pushed into the slot for the clutch arm pull the slave cylinder right in and then bleed a few pumps and then pull bar out and try pumping the pedal and see what happens

My 1999 S10 is becoming hard to shift, is this a clutch issue?

Check the hydraulic fluid to your clutch master cylinder. If it's low you may have a warn clutch or a leak in the system, and most likely at the clutch slave cylinder. Try adding more fluid if it's low and bleeding the system, at worst your going to need to replace the clutch. Also it would not hurt to check your transmission fluid or better yet service it to replace the oil transmission fluid with new fluid. You'll find the fill and drain bolt at the side of the transmission. Good luck and keep me posted, thank you for using Fixya.

How much transmission fluid?

No real way to tell because the torque conveter still contains fluid...You kind of have to fill and check. Fill in maybe 1/2-1/3 quart at a time and check the dipstick. do this untill the fluid level is between full and empty, but not any higher/lower or you will run into trouble. Good Luck!!
