Found camshaft broken and had it replaced. still hearing noises when revving engine on mistubishi pajero with 4m40 engine

the coin(shim) are slack they carry differnt thickness clearance are 8thou int and 12thou exh.you need to change coin(shim) 4m40 engine

if the starter is revving very slowly it is the battery, charge battery. if not, It can be three things happing. 1 no spark 2 no fuel 3 no crank signal or the car computer is bad- you will need to unplug one of the spark wires and remove the spark plug and put the spark plug in the spark plug wire boot, and touch the spark plug on any metal on the car and have some start the car. donot touch the spark plug itself and see if there is a spark. if spark is bright, then it is not spark plug and wires but if no or spark is not bright, check the spark plug wires by applying a little bit of water on the spark plug wire and take a 12v test light, connect the clap to ground and and have some one to crank the vehicle, touch allover the spark plug wires with the tip of the test light, if you see spark, replace the wires and change the plugs.. they are not good. if spark is present, check for fuel by removing any one of the spark plugs and see if it is wet. if wet fuel pump is ok but if not go look for the fuel pump fuse and relay. is fuse blown, replace, check the relay resistor with a volt meter. it should be around 40 to 80 ohm. if everything is good from this point check the fuel pump itself by disconnecting the connector to the pump and apply 12v and ground using jumper wires or some wires to the fuel pump if you donot hear the pump,replace pump. if you, the crank signal or computer may be the problem

Diesels do lose a little oil out the blow-by tube. If the engine temp. is higher then normal then you will lose more then normal amounts. If you are not leaking it then you are burning it, Possibly worn rings, head-gasket, or oil leak inside turbo. 68 MPH and higher doesn't sound unusual, is the engine still stock?

SOURCE: pajero 4m40 2.8d turbo

in front of the deisel pump the gear wheel is slightly cut/chip mark to the back of it take it out, and place it on t or n (t for turbo n for non turbo) .normal timming is good .If not hand turn until #1 piston is up and #1 cam shaft lobes are not touching cup & shim then set pump to desired mark

check your transmission oil , that's if its a transmission if its good then the oil may need changing or the wire to unit may be bad or burst even the unit. check to see if oil is dirty by pulling the dip stick

check if it has a timing chain as it indicates that the chain is hitting on the timing cover ( replace it and the guides if it has) If the front of the engine is all metal then it will be a chain
It could be faulty injectors squirting and not atomizing but that noise is a knock and generally go with higher revs

Loss of engine oil at high rpm


yor turbo is sucking it through intercooler check to see if intercooler is oily when you take off hose if it is, then disconect tappet pan hose from torbo intake driveand see make sure to put intercooler hose on back . if oil is still going you have back presure or turbo needs repair

Hi, I have a Pajero 2800 Turbo 1995 Auto. It has developed a bad oil leak somewhere around the front right hand side (from the front) where there seems to be oil spraying over the pipes, etc. Can't see it happening with the engine running and have cleaned the engine off but still can't see where it comes from. It has emptied the sump! Any ideas?
