First take battery to autozone and have a load test run on it. You may have low cranking amps caused by the alternator failing to charge your battery. If so, have autozone charge your battery then drive to autozone again so they can do a load test on your alternator. sounds to me like its either a bad battery or bad alternator or both.

It could be the solinoid or relay to the starter also check connections to starter . Is there any sound (clicking) when you turn the key ? could also be in the ignition switch or transmission relay pick up a Haynes manual for that specific truck and it will show you how to check and the location of the relays

I just had this problem on my 1999 ford expedition smh. My dad got under the hood and said the starter solenoid is loose... He started tightening it up and we heard a lil spark, he thought the key was in the "on" position but it was in my pocket. He told me to get in and try to start it and "vroom" so see if it's loose or replace it

Sounds like anti-theft system problem ! There is a little red light center top of dash pad , When you try to start the vehicle does the light flash fast ? If the vehicle thinks it's being stolen it won't let truck crank over an it turns off the fuel injectors !

I am trying to lcate the solenoid on my 2004 expedition to test it. Car won't start, just a lot of clicking. wipers, radio, light, etc all work fine off battery

Starter/solenoid is near the bottom of the engine bolted into the transmission.

Please see my tip at http://www.fixya.com/cars/r6222268-engine_doesnt_crank_turn_over . These are generic instructions. If you get stuck or need specific instructions for your car, please get back to me with model, year and engine info.

My don't know how to set my clock back in my 2004 Ford Exp.

with the radio on you hold down the 'clock' button and use the 'scan' buttons to go forward or back. scan is minutes, search is hours [something like that it may be the other way around i can't remember]

1999 FORD EXPEDITION intermittantly will not start.

You have a bad starter. A faulty starter will function when its cold but when it heats up, it takes more energy to get the starter to engage. Your problem is exhibiting the classic symptoms of a bad starter. I hope this solves your problem and the best of luck to you.
