SOURCE: How to 'bleed' the coolant in a 99 Olds Intrigue?

where the top radiator hose goes into the top of the engine is where the bleeder is up on top of where the hose goes in. mine is a copper like flathead screw looking thing ! fill the radiator and loosen the bleeder a little and wait for the coolant to start spraying a straight stream of coolant out of the bleeder! hope this helps!

04 Grand Prix changed all but radiator bleed thermo but still full air

Run vehicle with cap off. If this motor has 2 bleed screws, open the one where the bypass hose connects. ( 7mm) bolt and leave open till coolant comes out while continuing to fill. It may take a bit but should bleed properly. When both upper and lower rad hoses are hot top off and cap system

Have changed the water pump, thermostat, radiator, radiator cap, all hoses. 2001 chevy venture, still running hot? How long does it take to bleed the cooling system?

If the system fills via an expansion tank, I would recommend removing the top hose from the radiator and filling the system by pouring the coolant in through the hose until it begins to flow out of the upper radiator port. Reconnect the hose and then fill the expansion tank. That should take care of it.

check to see if both hoses coming off firewall are hot, sounds like there is a blockage in heatercore, or actuator not switching to hot. check hoses for heat first.

you let the water drop in the header tank by how much?? half a gall!!! there must be a very big warter leak there some were,,,letting the water drop so far has let air into the water jaket in the engine so you need to bleed this air out from the bleed velve in one of the top water hoses,,,
your a lucky chap to get away with this one??? carry a big bottol of rad seal around with you?

My 2001 impala is running hot

Most likely it is a 3.4 liter engine. If it is, they are prone to intake manifold leaks. If you know someone with a coolant system pressure tester, pressurize the system to the psi on the radiator cap and see if it will hold the pressure. If it won't, look for the area where the pressure is bleeding off coolant. That is where the problem is. If it holds the pressure, make sure you have bled the system properly. If you stand in front of the car, there is a bleeder on the passenger side and one on the driver's side which look like 1/8 pipe thread. Both of these need to be purged of ANY air.

2004 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT V6 NO HEAT LAST YEAR HEAT WOULD BARELY GET WARM THIS YEAR I TURN ON HEAT AND GET NOTHING BUT AIR A/C CAR HAS CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT

Had this problem after replacing water pump. Hard system to bleed. small bleeders on heater hoses and one near the front of the engine.
VW vortex has a post on cooling system bleeding. check to see if both heater hoses are hot. if so check the climate control: push econ and mode at the same time. it will give you codes. The blend door can be checked for freedom of movement.
