You cant. The key needs to be programmed to the car. You may have to have a locksmith or dealer do it as it may require a special computer to do

Disable anti theft on ford taurus

You can't , your best bet is take your vehicle to the ford dealer an have it checked out . The ford PATS - passive anti-theft system is intertwined in all the computer systems on the vehicle . I don't even think you can go into the system with the ford diagnostic tool an disable it . There is no where you could just disconnect it , it's software programmed into the modules (computers) on the vehicle .

Anti theft device

Try the other (spare) key. it could be just the transponder has failed in that key. if not it will be a tow to the dealer problem.

Battery was dead and now the centre dash board and gear selector lights do no come on at night, I also have the anti theft light flashing which it never used to do.

Does this vehicle start? I had this happen in a 2001 Ford Freestyle. The battery was defective / deader than dead. AAA came out to jump it but nothing worked except the anti theft light that flashed, double speed if you turned it to crank, (Which it wouldn't) I had it towed to Walmart to replace the nearly new battery but it still wouldn't start. I called AAA back to tow it to the Ford dealer where I had to pay $65.00 to get the anti theft key/s and computer reset. I said "key/s" because they didn't tell me that I needed my wife's key because you can't just program ONE key. So either I pay a taxi for a 24 mile round trip or I pay an extra $20.00 for a new anti theft key. After that. I had 3 keys to that van. To make a long story short, Have BOTH keys with you when you take it to be reprogrammed.

I have a 2001 mercury mountaineer that was given to me from my grandparents my problem is that I do not have the original keys or the key fob that came with the truck. I had a lockSmith comes out and try...

If a locksmith can't access the body computer, you'll have to tow it to a dealer. They have a scanner that will access the computer to allow you to add a new key code. Under normal conditions you need two keys already coded to the vehicle to be able to add another key.
The system is embedded in the body computer and the instrument cluster so there is nothing you can remove.

Do you have another key for the car? Try that. If not you'll have to have the keys programmed to the car at the dealer.

Anti theft engaged for no reason

That one your going to have to goto the dealer for. I think the alarm you have is after market, so you will probably have to if them check it.
