The two-wire Intake Manifold Air Temperature (IAT) sensor is installed in the intake manifold with the sensor element extending into the air stream:

  1. This is a Negative Thermal Coefficient (NTC), meaning that as the manifold air temperature increases, the resistance (voltage) in the sensor decreases, and vice-versa.
  2. The IAT sensor provides an input voltage to the PCM, indicating the density of the air entering the intake manifold based on intake manifold air temperature. When the ignition is turned ON , a 5-volt power circuit is supplied to the sensor from the PCM. The sensor is grounded at the PCM through a low-noise, sensor-return circuit.
  3. The PCM uses this input to determine:
Injector pulse-width (air: fuel ratio) Ignition timing (to prevent spark knock)

None of those , those are just the mass air flow sensor . If it had IAT sensor too , it would have 6 wires not four . intake air temp. sensor has gray wire and a gray with red stripe wire .

Where is the air intake sensor

2014 post ,
op HAS NO BOOKS
FAILS TO SAY NOT IN USA, 2009 IS NOT HERE.
SO NO BOOKS HERE,

AIR sesnors, 1.5L something....
CANADA SWIFT 09 USES. GM ENGINE.
1.5 L E-TEC I4 (petrol) in canada swift+
OR THE M15A? (ROTW)uses real suzuki 1.5L

NO COUNTRY STATED, SO, no EFI data

and other counrties have there own 1.5
like in china.

so again
1:no country stated
2:no symptoms to backup Easter egg humts
3:does know there are 2 air sensors, one flow and one temperature and some are 2 in one.

and that all this is impossible lacking
COUNTRY.

OP ignore posters posting books NOT FOR YOUR CAR
and wasting cash on same.
the maf is on the intake pipe or throttle body
if not maf the car runs only MAP baro sensor
and in the plenum or has vacuum hose to it
if it has and IAT at all it can be on air leaner
main pipe air,or on plenum, each engine is different
that was a Generic answer, based on most engines made here. in USA.

Where is the MAF Sensor and the IAT Sensor on my 99 dodge avenger, i cant seem to find these 2, if someone can kindly instruct me to find, i will be greatly appreciated

IAT is located beside the throttle. This engine does not have a mass air flow sensor the computer uses the inputs from the IAT, MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor and the RPM reading to determine what the air flow reading would be.

I am looking for the I.A.T. Sensor location on my truck

If your looking for the Intake Air Temp/Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor (IAT/MAP)(2003 model year and up) It is on the top of the intake manifold, just to the left of the #3 injector fuel line. There are 2 small Torx screws holding it.
