I have a 1997 Honda Accord. Several weeks ago, the radio stopped working, but then later it would come back on. This is the stock radio. I have the same problem with the aftermarket CD changer that is hooked up to the unit. I have tried switching out the radio with another stock radio, so it must be something in the wiring. I have tried disconnecting the rear speakers, one at a time, but this was not it. The unit is getting power - the display works, but no sound.
exact same problem. Radio stops intermittently. Power stays on (lights up) but nothing from speakers. Tape deck also doesn't work. Next time you take the car out, it may work for 5 minutes, then suddenly stop.
I have a factory radio in my 97 Honda Accord. Last week my FM stations started going out. When I turn on the car the radio is fine for about 5 minutes then an awful noise (much like a motorboat or helicopter) comes over the airwaves. The noise is on every FM channel and the seek button freezes when used. After a few minutes the FM station will come back on and then go back off again. The AM channels work fine all the time! I'm not sure what the problem is.
check the remote wire. if this does not work try cleaning the wiring harness but make sure that the battery is disconnected. if that doesnt work try to trace the wires back to where they start an check for a break in the wire. an have you checked all the fuses under the hood an in the fuse pannel?
