Open hood, look to right near wall to where driver sits. see a reservoir with a rectangular cap. Why are you adding brake fluid--is indicator light on?

Need to bleed my brakes... I have heard that you can put some baking soda in brake fluid and this will stop rotars from going bad.

Putting ANYTHING into brake fluid is a bad idea. Contaminating the fluid can only cause problems in the long run. And since the brake fluid itself never comes into direct contact with the brake rotors, it would seem unlikely that adding it to the brake fluid could in any way protect them from going bad.

Why leakage of brake fluid from all tyres on landrover defender TDi300 1999 model?

If brake fluid is really leaking from tires you have a unusual problem. If leaking from all wheel cylinders someone has likely put the wrong type fluid into the system. Unless the newer LR's have changed, they use only Girling brake fluid made especially for english systems. Regular USA DOT 3 or 4 WILL NOT WORK and quickly degrades the natural rubber parts in these English systems.

Now i dont know a lot about automatics especially modern ones with all this fancy electronics thats used nowdays but i think its a fault with the temperature sensor for the gearbox. But where its located and what it looks like i have no idea it could even be mounted inside the gearbox .Sorry not a very good answer from a mechanic but?? very few of our europeon cars come with auto transmission .Evan when i do know whats wrong i cannot buy the parts for the gearbox as only re-con boxes supplied by the dealer so best advice is to try a specialist in auto box repairs only .PS some of my best students when i used to teach mechanics many moons ago were the girls so no excuses like iam only a girl please

Im losing brake fluid in my resivor as fast as i put it in what could be the problem? its a 1999 kia sportage

well, if fluid is going down. then you have a leak. either in the brake lines or a bad wheel cylinder. if you can not see the leak. have someone push on brake while you look under the car. if the lines you will see it spray out. but if you do not see anything check for brake fluid on the inside of back wheels if it has drum brakes in the back, this means a brake cylinder is bad.

I need to know where to put the brake fluid

In the brake master cylinder resevoir located under the hood directly over your steering shaft. You should see a rectangular shaped plastic cap. If you need to add brake fluid you need to have your brake system checked. You should never have to add brake fluid.

Just had harmonic balancer put on and new belts he fogot the loctite glue so now has to undo bolt and put that on dur! but i am hearing a squeak in the wheel right hand drivers side AU car of my 1997 626...

it sounds like your brakes need to be replaced. the squeaking is actually a brake pad indicator rubbing on the rotors letting you know that the pads are low an need to be changed soon. if you let this go on for too long you may damage the rotors and spend a lot more money than just a simple brake job.

Sounds like she has a bad power brake booster/master cylinder. The master cylinder is leaking fluid into the brake booster which is sucked into the intake and burned which causes the smoke. Put a new booster and master cylinder on, and problem will be fixed.

You fill it through the same hole you checked it. You need a funnel and add no more than a pint at a time of the correct fluid. You check it warm. I have no idea if getting the level correct will help the shifting, but it can;t hurt.
