The front brakes were just replaced and I think the sound began after replacement. What would be my next step?

OK that makes sense because I just had the front brakes replaced, maybe something was forgotten when replacing?

TAPPING NOISE, NOW IT WON'T GO INTO GEAR WITHOUT LOUD GRINDING NOISE AND ACTS LIKE TRANSMISSION WON'T ENGAGE TO DRIVE

If it is an automatic transmission, first check the fluid level. If it is low, fill it up and try it again. If the level is fine, then there is a bigger issue and you should seek a professional's help.

Loud grinding noise from under passanger seat.. comes and goes... hit a bump and it stops. hit another it starts. greased the u joints and quit for 3 days.. but back again. getting more freaqueant and...

If greasing the u-joints eliminated the noise for 3 days, that would be the first place to suspect. The grease will briefly remove most of the slack in the joint until it is slung out and the needle bearings will once again run dry & wobble. This noise can be anything from a grind to a loud squeal. I hope this helps.

My 2002 Dodge Neon makes a loud, almost grinding noise in the front end which is worse in the morning and lessens as it drives and warms up. Hear the noise only at lower speeds. There is no vibration...

I'd say there's no grease left in the CV joint boots, if it's front wheel drive. Something you should check right away, as your car has about reached that age, and if you run it without grease in the boots, you'll eat up the joints in a big hurry, and that's costly and dangerous as well.
