Question about 1996 Mazda MX-5 Miata

Umm my car wants to start but dosn't I don't hear any thing for fuel pumps this happened when I was driving and suddenly turned off since then unable to turn on

Check fuses for broken ones using a fuse tester or by pulling them one by one and lookin at the conductor inside to see if burnt or discontinuous.

You can check for power at the pump relay, or jumper it to make the pump run.

Turns over, won't start

Make sure you hear the fuel pump run for a coupla' seconds when you turn key to on.You might need to push the fuel pump inertia reset button(for collision purposes,it shuts off pump).
Next check for fuel pressure at the fuel rail feeding the injectors.It's like a tire valve,but it has pressurized fuel so be careful, and check only a cool engine with the switch in `run' position,engine not running.

The Car will start ,but it will not turn over

Could be many things. First thing, turn the key to the start position but don't start the van. You should hear the hissing of the fuel pump. If not, you have a problem with fuel pump/relay/fuse. If your fuel system is functional, it could be a crankshaft position sensor, or electronic control module just to name a few. Where there any "check engine" lights before this failure??

The first thing i would tey is changeing the fuel filter. Chevy has a problem with the design from the fuel pump to the fuel inlet on the intake manifold. What they did it is back up the power supply to the fuel pump from the fuel relay and split the curicut and ran the back up through the oil pressure sending unit . So even if the relay went bad while driveing the fuel pump would still get power and the truck wouldn't die on the road its a saftey thing .But if the relay is bad then the engine needs to build up enough oil pressure to trip the oil sending unit to send power to the pump from cranking thus a long cranking time when cold . Change the fuel filter first it should be replaced every 4 to 5 years anyway . A nd if that dosn't fix it try the relay it should be behind a panal inside the glove box on your truck and if that dosn't work replace the oil pressure sending unit. One of these 3 things should work if the fuel pump is working correctly

I have a 2005 kia rio.i started my car, started ok ran for a min and then just shut turns over but does not start.

Could be a million things but my first guess is no fuel from pump. The car would run for a little while while it burned up what was left in the fuel line then die and not restart. Try turning key to ON position (not just ACC) and listen, do you hear the fuel pump in the tank come on and pump for 3 or 4 seconds every time you put the key in the ON position? If you don't hear the pump you probably aren't getting any fuel, check the fuse under the hood (the underside of fuse block cover will say which is the pump fuse, also check the pump relay that's also in there near the fuse).
If you do hear the pump it could possibly be a clogged fuel filter but also many other things, fuel is my first guess though.

While I agree that the fuel pump would be the most likely suspect for this car failing to restart, if it is the fuel pump, however, the fact that it started after tapping hard on the throttle would be pure coincidence.
I believe that all e46s have used drive-by-wire throttles. That is - there is no throttle cable between the gas pedal and the throttle. The gas pedal generates an electronic signal that tells the computer where your foot is, and the computer opens the throttle. You say that the car experienced a sudden stop. Did the engine get shut off while the throttle was open? If so, perhaps flooring the throttle caused the electronically controlled throttle to cycle and reset itself (just a theory).
Listen for the hum of the fuel pump when you turn the key to the On position, before you turn the key to the crank position. The hum should last only a second or so. The pump shuts off after the system is pressurized. If you don't hear that hum when the car fails to start (if this happens again), then you have a fuel pump problem.

The car is either not getting gas or not getting spark. It could be a weak battery, bad spark plugs or wires, bad coil pack/distributor, clogged fuel filter or spark plugs, or a defective fuel pump. These are the most common causes of this problem and and except the fuel pump and sometime fuel filter are relatively easy to replace yourself. Good luck and happy hunting!

Car will turn over but wont start

Cars unable to start can be from many different things. Trying to troubleshoot 7 words described online is tough. I would write down every detail possible for the best results. Such as when the car had its last tune up. What was changed during the tune up. Did the car slowly come to this problem, or it just happened one morning.
Usually a car starting problem relates to the fuel pump, fuel pump relay, CAS(crank angle sensor), and the coil pack.
I would make sure the engine oil level is ok first, then change the CAS, going with the cheaper stuff first. When you turn the car to the "on" position (without cranking) you should hear your pump from the rear activate, check for that. Hope this helps!

Fuel problem

The problems you're  having with your freestyle are very common, whats happening is that your fuel tank is designed like a saddle.  
There is a fuel pump on the passenger side of the tank and a remote pick-up on the drivers side. What happens is that the jet pump, which is responsible for pumping the fuel from the drivers side of the tank to the passenger side is not working and so when the pass side fuel level is low. The drivers side still has fuel but it is unable to get it to the drivers side. So it wont start, but it still reads 1/4 tank because that is how much fuel is in the drivers side. 
From driving around, some fuel does spill over the hump. But without the jet pump working, it will never empty the drivers side of the tank. You are correct in saying you need a new fuel pump, it is one big assembly, and unfortunately, expensive as well.
