Question about 2005 Toyota Corolla
Doesn't Toyota have a 5 year warranty on the power train?
The transmission should have a built in self diagnostic that is telling what is wrong.
It could be something like an improperly adjusted throttle position sensor.
But if the transmission is not shifting right, it can easily ruin the engine. If the engine is over heated, it could already be a problem.
Do not drive it more than necessary, just get it to a different shop that can run the built in diagnostics. This should not be that hard to fix.
