There are many sensors in a car. You are probably referring to an oxygen sensor. If this is the case, then yes you can drive it with no damage being done, however it will not pass smog.

Testimonial: "how much does it cost to fix it? and can i drive it with the overdrive off?"

You can expect to pay anywhere between $150 and $200 to have it repaired at a shop. If you believe you can do it on your own, it will cost about $80for parts. I would recommend you take it to a shop however.

Yes, you can drive it with OD off. In fact you can drive it just like you normally would. You will not lose any MPG, power, or cause any damage by driving with a bad sensor. However, you should not wait too long to replace it, because these sensors are there to alert you to when something is wrong, so replace it ASAP.

Sensors all going off

Scan it to see which sensor is bad.
it can only be 3 things
bad sensor (assumes door not bent in crash)
bad wires to sensor
or the alarm controller is messed up.
we check the voltage at the sensor, if wrong correct that.
if good to the alarm we replace, it,
just say a new 2014 Toyota do this and the controller was bad.
in warranty .

How to tell my crank sensors gone bad

if the car shuts off while driving down road, and will not start for about 10 minutes, this usually is a bad crank sensor. if crank or cam sensor fails, it will set a fault code. good-day!

Can something else trigger a bad o2 sensor or will that make a 2004 Pontiac grand prix drive differently?

If you have a trouble code for one of the two O2 sensors, either the sensor could be bad, or the wiring to the sensor could be broken or shorted. The O2 sensor is used for calculating the air to fuel ratio, so if it goes bad, the engine will not run right.

ABS light pops on a few minutes after you start to drive was just wondering what that means and how can that be corrected.

Looks like you have a bad abs wheel sensor on your car. The system can only pick up the faulty sensor after you start to drive. It also resets every time you start the car, so it happens everytime you start to drive. I would bet it's the drivers side rear wheel sensor. Have the abs codes read from your car and change the sensor that's bad.

2001 gmc safari stalls when comming off the exit ramp on highway, around town it is fine. replaced mas air flow sensor and iac sensor. still stalling

car shuts off when driving for a while, this could be a bad crank sensor. but the sensor should set a problem code, have car scanned. if you do not have a scanner, any auto parts place will scan for free.if car shuts off when driving down road then a bad crank sensor will cause this. good luck toolman,

Car shuts off while driving

if car shuts off while driving it could be a bad crank sensor. a bad crank sensor will shut car off while driving, then it will not start for about 10 minutes, when it starts it runs fine until it goofs up again. the popping could be the sensor for it controls timing along with the cam sensor.
