clutches cost $700.0 plus original, around $500 after market ( (original equipment in a different box) and the labour costs depend on if the flywheel needs surfacing Time will be around 6 hours at local labour time rate.

1998 Nissan 200sx new clutch slips when hot

The cable is probably too tight, andnot allowing the pressure plate to use all of its clamping force. This will also wear out the new release bearing.

Wnating to know how I can know or tell if im gonna need a entire clutch set or jus a part to my clutch for 1997 nissan pathfinder SE it was high reving by its self when i would be driving for past week or...

Start by having the clutch adjustment checked by a knowlegdable mechanic. If you need to replace the clutch, yes it all needs to be replaced, and the flywheel resurfaced.

Meanwhile, quit driving the unit as you are overheating the clutch and flywheel by slipping.

You can not change transmission fluid in a
trans that already slips

It will slip worse

Now you to have it replaced or rebuild it

Have no idea, as i guess you don't either,
about the clutch,flywheel,gearbox,your thinking
about a standard shift

At how many miles should I replace my clutch and flywheel?

flywheel can last whole life of the truck if you are a good driver and i have seen clutchs go as long as 200 hundred thousand depends on the driver and the roads you drive uphills etc.personally i would wait until signs of slipping surfaced .

Got 300zx thats sat for 8 yrs car starts and runs good but clutch is staying engaged.I have heard i need to check slave cylinder if so where is it located

Slave cylinder is located on the side of the transmission behind the main flywheel housing and points towards the engine. Follow the clutch pipe down from the master cylinder. The slave is about 12cm long by 4cm in diameter with a bleed nipple on the top. You may want to change the fluid after 8 years! What can happen if the car has not been moved is that the clutch disc becomes bonded to the flywheel by corrosion, exactly in the same way the brake pads can seize the rotors. Make sure the wheels are free to rotate. Lift a rear wheel clear of the ground and chock the front wheels, as you start the car the differential will transfer the power to the lifted wheel. With the foot hard on the clutch take the engine up to about 2000rpm, hold the accelerator at that speed and pull the hand brake on and off slowly. With luck the snatch of the handbrake biting make break loose the clutch plate. You will know when it breaks free as the engine will rev freely. When you do get it free, slip the clutch for a while to scrape clean the friction plate on the flywheel. Likewise when the car is moving ride the brakes to polish the rotors of corrosion.

How do u change a clutch in a 1990 nissan pickup rwd 2wd four cylinder

You'll need to remove the driveshaft, and transmission crossmember, and then the gearbox and bellhousing from the motor. The clutch disc is between the flywheel and pressure plate. Remove the pressure plate and remove the clutch. You should get the flywheel resurfaced, especially if there are heat spots on it. Also change the throw-out bearing.

New clutch and car is still slipping

in some cases if the ther is not enough free play in the clutch pedel as the engine area heats up things will expand in this case the distance of freeplay in your clutch pedel. have your clutch pedel freeplay adjusted. Also it is recomeded NOT to resurface the flywheels on nissans It dose change the hight and the distance for where the fingers of the pressure plate and the release bearing flang contact

You'll probably have to change the clutch plate on the flywheel. You'll have to get a floor jack, but a transmission jack is easier to remove the transmission. To remove the transmission you'll have to remove the tortion bars on both front wheels. Also, you'll have to remove the crossmember aft of the transfer case. You'll also have to remove the front and rear drive shafts. The manual says you should keep the transfer case from leaking oil out the back. but, you can just top it off after you're done. Be careful not to damage the seal seal for the rear drive shaft. Anyway, once you get the transmission and transfer case out (you'll have to remove the shift and transfer case levers), you should have enough space to remove the clutch plate from the flywheel on the engine. You should have an alignment tool to make sure the clutch plate is aligned with the crankshaft so you can put the transmission back on.
