Question about 1997 Cadillac DeVille
Typically - a Transmission flush and filter replacement, along with removing the TCC and cleaning and bench testing it will cure your issue.
If there is that much material floating around in the transmission to plug things up, you might want to consider selling it, or paying for a transmission rebuild down the road.
How many miles on it? has the transmission been serviced at the recommended intervals?
