Your cars speedometer has a broken or frayed cable replace it the Tach is separate from the speedometer/odometer and will work on its own

Check the cables and connector for the speed sensor. It's located on the transmission towards the firewall. The connector has three pins on it. I just had to replace mine, went to the junkyard and paid $3 for the connector, because it was corroded. If the cables are clean and OK then replace the speed sensor. It ranges in price from $65 to $105.

SOURCE: speedometer doesnt work
if its a digital readout check all fuses if its cable one end may have come undone or the speed sensor in the right front wheel located within the wheel bearing is malfunctioned and needs replacing make sure the wire to the wheel is connected as well
