I forgot to mention that the problem goes on and off. Sometimes the speakers/chimes start working and then go back off.

  • davidankerse Oct 06, 2010

I have checked all the fuses and they are good. Where are the relays that I need to check?

  • davidankerse Oct 07, 2010

What and where is the relay that controls the seatbelt, door ajar, low fuel, chimes, etc located. I have checked all the fuse. I don't know why but when I lost the chimes I lost my fron speakers?

Its possible that you have any loss connection or bad sensor;

This is a common problem and is caused by the door switch plunger sticking (due to dirt, other elements or rust). This can often be corrected by performing the following:
1. Thoroughly spray the door switches (on each door) with:

  • Cleaning spray - clear the sludge out of the mechanism - electronic contact cleaner, carb, brake, etc
  • Air, canned or even better, from a compressor
  • Spray lubricant - a dry lube (best), silicone spray, WD-40 or similar
2. Open and close each door several times to work the lube into the mechanism
This is usually sufficient to clean the electrical & plunger mechanism inside the door switch.
If this doesn't work, you could remove the door panel and do the spray treatment from the inside also.

If this doesn't work, the switch may have to come out for repair (see below), or replacement.

Also, check in THIS LINK about any clues to solution.

Hi! Please do check the fuse and relays. These are electrical related issue concerning the fuse and relays. Please pull them out and check if they are blown or burnt. You will need to replace them if necessary.

Door chimr module loca5ion 2005 taurus

There isn't a chime module , built into instrument cluster !
Door Ajar Chime
The door ajar chime feature is controlled by the smart junction box (SJB). The driver and passenger door ajar switches, and the lift gate are hardwired to the SJB. If any door or lift gate is sensed as being open, and the ignition switch is in RUN/START position, the SJB will process the input and sends a chime request to the instrument cluster over the controller area network (CAN).
Safety Belt Warning Chime
The safety belt chime feature is controlled by the restraints control module (RCM). The driver safety belt switch is hardwired to the RCM. The RCM communicates with the instrument cluster over a hardwire connection. If at any time during the first 6 seconds after the ignition switch is placed in RUN the driver safety belt is sensed as being unfastened, the RCM will process the input, and in turn, sends a chime request to the instrument cluster.
Do you know what C.A.N controller area network is ? Serial data communication bus.

How do I eliminate the beeping noise that occurs even when I'm driving?

Is there a door ajar light on? How about a seatbelt light on? These will cause the chime to sound. Possible door switch causing issue. You can unplug the chime module from under the dash. Listen for the noise to locate it and unplug it.

There is another legitimate and easy way to disable seat belt chime. Radio is supposed to stay on til door opens. That is correct

How to stop the chime on seatbelt on 2005 dodge dakota

Are you wearing your seatbelt when it chimes? If not, wearing your seatbelt will shut the chime off. If it chimes when you have it on, the switch inside the seatbelt locking mechanism may not be functioning properly, and the mechanism may need replaced. Look at the wiring next to your seat and follow the wires that leave the locking mechanism. They travel under the seat and plug into a wiring connector near the rear of the seat. Make sure it is plugged in and check the wires for damage.

2008 Cobalt - Front speakers not working and no audible turn signal. Both stopped working at the same time.

In my 2008 Cobalt, the front speaker in the driver door went inoperative - no turn signal noise, no warning chimes for door open with key in, seatbelt chime, low fuel chime, and of course, no music. All of those sounds come through the speaker. I switched the driver door speaker and the passenger door speaker, and now I have all of those noises back.

If you have manual roll down windows, you'll have to buy a special tool to remove a little clip that's behind the roller handle. This tool was included in a kit for about $7 that I bought at Harbor Frieght, but you might be able to find the kit at other auto parts stores. Google "removing window crank" and you should be able to locate a video that shows how to get it off.

Anyway, I switched the speakers and now we just don't have music coming out of the passenger door speaker, but at least we have all of the warning chimes and turn signal clicking noise again.

The dealer wanted almost $200 for a new speaker and to replace it (labor). Rediculous.

I have a 1997 toyota corolla that one of the chimes (seat belt, key ignition or lights) just started dinging and won't stop until the car is turned off.

Get in the car, make sure your dome light is set to door-operation.
Close all the doors, does the dome light go out?
If so, it's not the door ajar chime. If not, one of your door pin switches is defective.
Buckle your seatbelt, does the seatbelt warning light on the dash go out?
If so, it's not the seatbelt alarm. If not, it's the seatbelt buckle receiver.
The light warning works with the key off, so it is not that since turning the car off would not stop it.
Last thing it could be is the ignition key alarm.
I have seen a few malfunction over the years.

Sometimes on start up there is a series of two chimes. What does this indicate.

Are you wearing your seatbelt when you start the car as this is the most likely cause for the chimes. having the door ajar would cause the chimes as well, but they would keep going until the door was closed

I have a pontiac G6 '06. None of the chimes worknow, don't know exactly when it happened. No door ajar, low fuel, seatbelt, turn signal... none of the chimes work. I cannot find any fuse realted to this or...

I would say relay. Have you tried a code reader? Auto Zone (auto parts) here in the states will do it for free. Also for a quick fix try rebooting your computer in your car. how ?1.)removing both battery terminals 2.) go in and turn the key (this will drain power in any circuits) 3.) turn key off 4.)then for around 30 seconds then reconnect battery.
