Therm. is being held open causing the engine to not heat up to a full 190 degrees. make sure you put in a 190 degree therm. and unhook the negative battery cable for at least 5 minutes to clear the code. the system could need a flush too, with over 100,000 miles or 5 years

OVERHEATING ON 91 BLAZER

You would have air pockets with a new thermostat and none if you leave it out.
Are you sure you are burping the cooling system with the new thermostat installed ?
Its also possible you have a leaking head gasket or other problem that is being amplified by having the thermostat installed. Something may be heating up with and not without.

Car dosent regiester as over heating

could be heat sensor that controls fan turning on when motor reaches heat range. When defrost is on fan will come on automaticly over riding the sensor...Replace sensor is what i would suggest. Local autozone can help you out to the location and how to replace...hope this helps and if so please leave rating on this post and good luck.
