Question about 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse

2 Answers

Replacing my stereo in my 99 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder and Haynes tells me to disengage the clips on the bottom of the Center Cluster Panel. Doesn’t seem to be that easy, concerned about breaking it. Thanks, Roger

Will do, thank you. I don't see the clips when I'm moving it around.

THIS ARE STEPS 10 TO 18 (DISREGARD THE NUMBERS)

    1. Remove the passenger side air bag module by unfastening the retaining screws, accessible through the glove compartment opening, detach the connector and remove the module.

    2. Remove the hood lock release handle. The handle is secured with a screw.

    3. Remove the retainers, then remove the left side instrument panel under cover.

    4. Remove the center air outlet assembly by carefully prying it out.

    5. Remove the heater control assembly as outlined in Section 6.

    6. Remove the instrument panel switch assembly.

    7. Unfasten the retainers, then remove the right side instrument panel under cover.

    8. Remove the front speaker assemblies.

    9. Unfasten the remaining retainers, tag and detach the necessary connectors, then remove the instrument panel assembly from the vehicle.

Hello Roger. I agree. It never seems that easy. Do this. Get a can of a aerosol contact cleaner from an auto parts store. Squirt some on the contact clips and let it sit for an hour. Repeat if necessary. J.

You should be able to grab it firmly from the bottom-front-center of the seat, slightly yanking both forward and up, it should pop right off.

How do I replace the fog housing on a 2005 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder?? Does the whole front need to come off?

No. You can get to the fog lamps by removing the plastic under-covers from the bottom of the bumper facia. They are held in place with a bunch of plastic clips. Once the covers are removed, you will see the back side of the fog lamp assemblies where you can access the four mounting screws.

Need the code for the radio

None of the mitsubishi cars stereos have the same code, I had this problem with the stock stereo on my 99 eclipse spyder, I removed the stereo and put an aftermarket in, but changed it back when I was trading the car in, You have to call mitsubishi customer sevice with the serial code number on the back of the radio, also you have to provide them with information to prove that you actually own the car.

Replacing rear brake pads on a 05 spyder eclipse, I cannot get the pads free. What am I missing

A lot of brake pads have spring clips on the back to keep them in position. Once you have the caliper off, it is usually a simple matter of popping them out of the pistons. Don't use a screw driver since you might damage the piston or seal.
