It should be located in the Fuse box under the hood or mounted on the fender wall drivers side under the hood.

    There are several relays under there, which is for the starter? I do not have a diagram

    Here's a link to download the Owners Manual for your vehicle. It should tell you where the relay is you want. If it doesn't show the relay information for the power distribution box you will need to get a Haynes or Chilton's repair manual on your vehicle. Mine were marked by abbreviations I could read after I pulled each relay out.

You may not have a starter relay as such.
The Starter usually has a solenoid (a relay of sorts) mounted on it.

Is there a fuel pump relay on a 1997 buick lesabre


The symptoms sound very similar to when the antitheft system locks out the starter. "Runs for 5 seconds or less, then stalls". "Starter not working, but still turns over when jumped at the stater" Maybe read thru this link and see if this sounds like what you are experiencing.

Hello: Disconnect the battery, Remove the rock shield (black plastic). Disconnect the wires, remove the two bolts at the rear (driver side) of the starter and bring it out Pull forward, tilt it down it should come out

Need a picture of the removal of a starter on a 1997 buick lesabre


No photo. But jack ukp the car locate the starter, but first remove the neg terminal from the battery. You will see two bolts holding the starter on. Remove these. Remove the battery wires from the starter and replace new one.

the ingnition switch has a wire broken that wont allow the computer to turn the security system off to let the car start
