Question about 1999 Ford Taurus
My check engine light will come on and my car will run rougher if I put in "subatandard" gasoline for too long. If you look in your manual, it will tell you the same thing. The easiest way for me to fix it was to go to a higher-end gas station like Chevron or Shell, fill up my tank with mid-grade or higher and throw in a bottle of good fuel injection cleaner. The manual says that you need to put at least 8 gallons of fuel in for it to make any difference to the sensors. It has always worked for me. The check engine light has turned off either immediately or within a few miles. I hope this helps!
