Question about 2008 Nissan Rogue

1 Answer

I have a 2008 Rogue with 41,000 miles. The last few days, when I start the engine, it seems slow to start, but not every time. Would the starter have problems already??

Have your battery checked. That started to happen to me and mine went out.

i owned a Nissan Rogue S '09. Last year 2012 (june) I changed the original battery equiped in my car after it went dead after lunch. I observed that it starts or cranked a little bit slower for a week before it finally dropped dead. The started motor was good, no problem with it.

i also have my tranny fluid drained by the Nissan Service Center after my odometer hit 76K (never been drained) and the whining noise I hear during acceleration suddenly disappeared after the service was done. I guess my Tranny fluid was low before the fluid drain and fill was done.

Also changed the cabin air filter by myself after noticing the smell coming out of the AC after switching it on was bad few minutes after starting. It is not that difficult to change the Cabin air filter but the only thing, you will be on your knees to better see and access the filter by the gas pedal

In filling up my Nissan Rogue 09, I use the Mid-Grade Fuel everytime. That will give me no headache when Smog time comes.

Sometimes battery cables can short the circuit; try getting them away from any metal or each other.

throw out bearing.Yes with only 41,000 miles on it it can still go out.But it sounds like its just starting. It could have sat at the dealership for 6mo- a year before anyone drove it making dry spots on the bearings.

2008 sl awd Nissan Rogue, won't start Battery seems to have power making a clicking sound may be starter, having hard time finding starter location.

Know this problem was posted several years ago, but having same issue with my 2008 Nissan Rogue. We've tried everything short of having the battery replaced, (including charging it), and nada. So, tomorrow morning, that'll be our next move. Sucks, but best thing to die. Much rather than than an alternator, starter or solenoid.

I bought a 2008 Pontiac G6 3.5L with 25,000 miles last year. I now have 41,000 miles and the engine light is on, diagnostic revealed O2 sensors, I changed the 3 sensors (upper stream) and the light is...

Ok you should use a code reader to clear the code. It can be rented at the auto parts store. The pontiac G6's have an issue with the catalytic converter this may need to be replaced. Try the dealership as with less 60k miles it may be a free replacement.

Starting problems

if this problem persists then you could check a few things on it, like on the times when its not even making a noise when trying to turn the key, use rubber/wooden object and tap the starter motor but not touching the contacts on the back. if this amkes it spring into life then it will be your starter motor if this does nothing then it will be a dodgy battery supply. does it also make like a screaching noise while trying to start? if so then definitely your starter motor

Does it make the sound like you are trying to start an already running engine? My 05 did that about once every 3 months since I bought it new. I put 40k miles on it and it never changed, dealer could not reprodice it.
