Locating freeze plug on 2008 Chrysler Sebring

There are multiple freeze plugs - they are molded into the casting of the block to prevent damage to the block if the coolant freezes/expands. To find which one is leaking, put enough coolant into the engine to fill it, and pressurize the cooling system with a pressure tester. Look closely from under the car to see where the coolant is coming from (you may need to remove the belly pan).

My 2005 pacifica was leaking coolant on passenger by the wheel and the temperature here is below 20's and it cold..so my coolant completely froze..what can i do to get it unfroze..help!!!!

First, you have to find the leak. It could be a freeze plug or a hose. Properly mixed coolant (antifreeze and water) will not freeze. If you can't get the car inside, you'll have to wait until the weather warms up above freezing to look for the leak.

How much dose a shop cost to repair freeze plugs

a 2005 should not have bad freeze plugs. I would try to look for other source of leak. but if it is freeze plug, figure about hour and a half to r&r starter to gain access to plug then approximately hour and a half to r&r freeze plug. I would figure that something else is leaking though.

Replace freeze plug

Chances are the block does have freeze plugs, but they would have nothing to do with the engine not cranking. The plugs are a thin metal cup that will pop out if the block freezes to help prevent the block from cracking. Even if they pop out the block can still be damaged. That includes the cylinders.
If the plugs popped out, you would loose what was in the radiator.

How do you know if your freeze plug is bad on a 2000 Chrysler Sebring?

If a freeze plug is bad it will be leaing coolant. They sometimes do rust out and need to be replaced. They rust from the inside out so there is not really any warning before they go. If it's not leaking don't worry about them. If they are leaking the have to be replaced, there's not really any other fix. They can be got at any auto parts store or you could install a block heater if you don't already have one.It fits in the freeze plug holes and it's a lot easier. Hope this helps.

Leaking oil out think its the freeze plugs

"freeze plugs" actually are installed in a block to seal off the holes where the stuffing that is put into the casting gets removed. The stuffing is what forms the water jackets that cool the engine.
That said, there is no way a freeze plug can ever leak oil because they only cover water passages.
Keep looking and you will find the actual leak source!!

Freeze plug is broke how 2 fix

Go to the parts store and get a rubber/metal/bolt/screw assembly designed to plug freeze plugs that come out of the engine and leak antifreeze.

It will look a little different than the original freeze plug, but will work fine.

Leaking antifreeze inbetween tranny and motor 3.5 engine what could it be thank you 1999 chrysler 300m

Very good chance the exspansion plug (freeze plug) at the rear of the engine has rusted through. Not maintaining the correct antifeeze solution may have allowed rust or electrolisis to occurr.
