Question about 2004 Subaru Outback
If you can't unlock the door in order to get in, then you can't really know if the battery is dead or not?
Isn't it possible that your remote simply has a bad battery, and is not transmitting?
But if the door does not unlock manually with the key, then it seems to me you either have the wrong key or wrong car?
Have you tried all the doors, including the back hatch?
The correct key has to open the doors.
There is no alarm system in the world designed to prevent that.

First of all never post your personal number on a public site, you don't know who's watching.
The door latch was designed to be opened by the key - so if one of the doors doesn't open then try the other door. If neither work then there have been some modifications done to the latch mechanism and because of that the only way to unlock it is to hack it. Or you could call a locksmith that would pick the locking mechanism.
Once the door is open you should have the locks inspected.
