Start with the simple stuff first is the air filter clogged? are there any loose grounds? has the car been sitting and the fuel gone stale??have you done any repair in which something was not reconnected or left unplugged( like a sensor ) or is there a blown fuse. are the plug wires in the right order on the cap?

only after you eliminate the simple problems can you identify if something needs replaced. if you need further help please ask!

I would suggest looking at the little things. Check your fuel filter, and clean your spark plugs. No Guarantee that this will work, but this is much cheaper than replacing something expensive that you don't need.

1991 Honda Accord, Automatic. Vehicle started

It sounds like your spark plugs or leads are not working.

When did you last have them changed? Spark plugs should be replaced every 20,000kms (12500miles) and the leads about every 60,000 kms (40,000 miles).

If there is any problem with these your car will not run smoothly while under load.

Also you should check your distributor cap and see if it is cracked or if there is any carbon build up on the inside of the pins.

the distributor cap should come off with 4 10 mil bolts and should be located to the left of the engine block.

Undo the 4 bolts and pull the cap off (make sure you have disconnected the leads (and checked which order they are plugged in - they need to go back on the same way). Check the 4 pins on the inside - if there is carbon build up on the pins get a flathead screw driver (or a knife) and scrap away the carbon and a bit of the end finish on the pins. Put it all back together and check how the car runs.

1991 Honda Accord: Brakes + Seat belt problem

have your brakes checked. the seat belt may be covered under warranty, ck with the dealer. I worked at a Honda Dealer in the 80's and I think their seat belts were covered for the life of the car. I could be wrong

1991 honda accord. will not start on its own. will start if i spray starting fuel in air intake......i already changed the fuel filter

If the car dies after it runs for a minute then I would suspect either the fuel pump or the fuel pump relay. Turn the key on but not to run, you should hear the fuel pump for about 5 seconds, you could also check the fuel injector rail for fuel pressure, just put a rag over the shrader valve before depressing it, if the pump is making pressure it will squirt out. If still no luck pull the fuel pump relay and jumper the hot wires and listen for the pump.

Car dies when brake is applied

Couple of options here. If it only dies when you have your foot on the brakes, then it's probably a vacuum leak on your brake master cylinder, It is a large hose running from back of intake to brake booster, with a plastic fitting for the hose to slide on. If you hear a hiss when you apply the brakes, that's definately it.
other than that it would have to be some kind of idle problem. If the car sits and idles fine then check the hose. Hope this helps :)

1991 Honda Accord Starting/Ignition trouble

sounds like a bad battery or the battery cables are corroded where they hook up to the battery or loose. if it cranks for a couple seconds slow than clicks quickly there isnt enough voltage getting to the starter. not all new parts are good.
