Warped rotors. if the steering wheel rocks back and forth(side to side) most likely the front rotors if the vehicle rocks forward and backwards most likely rear. also on the dropping in the brake pedal did you open bleeder for brakes if so possobly air if not warped rotors can cause a softer pedal

Rubbing noise from front of car

It could be your brakes. Your brakes are always rubbing lightly. Pull your front wheels off one at a time, and feel the rotor, to see if there are any gouges in it. Do not do this after you have just driven a distance though, that brake will be hot. Check that first though. Are there any vibrations when you press the brake at slow or high speeds?

Brake trouble shooting

First off make sure you have brake fluid in your reservoir. Secondly if brake fluid is at the full line. I would try bleeding the brakes. This takes two people. On each cylinder there is a bleeder valve. Start with the drivers front with the engine off have somebody pump the brakes 3 or 4 times then hold it to the floor. open the bleeder valve and the break will go to the floor shut the brake bleeder valve. And repeat 2 more times. " MAKE SURE YOU CAN CHECK YOUR BRAKE FLUID AT EACHthe STEP AND REFILL RESERVOIR AS NEEDED".Then move to the next 3 until complete. If this does not fix your problem most likely you have a bad master cylinder. Good luck.

I just had new brakes put on the front of my suzuki , rotors and pads on the front, but my my mechanic said the back brakes are drum brakes,he cleaned and lubricated them, but now the back brakes are...

I would take your vehical to another mechanic, preferably one who knows what they are talking about. If you vehical is still behaving strangly, you may have been ripped off.

My olds brake tail lights wont shut off. fuse has been taken out and messed witht he light button to see if the light switch is broken and nothing will turn them off. i really dont like to take my battery...

Hello,
More than likely your problem exists in the "Brake light switch". This switch turns the brake lights on and off when you press the brake pedal down. It's located under the steering column on the brake pedal itself. If you go to a local auto parts store and tell them that you need a brake light switch for your car they can show you a picture of it or show you the part. Then you can locate the part under the dash. You should be able to change it yourself. Those older model cars are usually pretty easy.
Have any more questions feel free to ask!
Thanks

Rear brake light wont light. checked fuse. changed bulb.

Try checking the adjustment for the brake switch its near the top of the pedel up under the dash there will be an adjuster nut that can be turned to shorter or lenghten the plunger that makes the switch opperate againest a stop This is likely your problem the switch is kind of new to be worn out but if it is remove the clip on the side of the pin that goes through the switch and the pedel slide the pin out and the switch will come out there about 5 to 10 dollars for a new one

2002 Camry: 35000 miles. This is a city driven car. When I was on the highway, and applied my brakes at 70mph, the brake peddle was pulsating erratically. I had my rotors checked thinking they could be...

Re-check again, that's what rotors do when warped, but only when the pedal is applied. If you let off and the pulsation goes away, it's the rotors.

Brake pedal will not depress

Let the fluid out of the master cylinder or from a line. If the pedel  then goes down w/o the fluid, then the booster is working ok. Rebuild or replace the master cylinder.
