If your engine dies right away it could indicate a failure of the cam sensor or crankshaft sensor. This is just a guess. If you can get it to autozone and have them read the codes stored in your computer it will give you a good indication of the problem and they do it free.

Check engine light remains on after mechanic replaced mass air sensor. He reset it, it went off. After a few miles it went on again and stays on. I put a new gas cap on as well.

The gas cap is part of the EVAP System
Nothing to do with the MAF Sensor

Take it back. We can't guess at
why a mechanics work has not
resolved your issues.

The check light might be a new & different problem

We have a new style VW Jetta (1999) .. need to locate the speed sensor. Check engine light is on again after sensor was replaced by mechanic. Car would /will not shift into high gear and chk eng light is...

what you say sounds right, but good be internal, the first thing is to check the wiring to sensor and also a defective part is not an uncommon thing, the speed sensor is located on the rear of the trany, near the axle housing, i would check the connection and then test sensor or replace it

Code 1346 on 2002 toyota sienna

P1346 is the code for:
VVT Sensor /Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit Range/ Performance Problem (Bank 1)
If the code came on just after the timing belt replacement more than likely the sensor was damged in some way during the work. The sensor is located in the same area the mechanic was working in while changeing the timing belt. You should have this checked right away. A faulty cam sensor can also lead to the vehicle not starting.

Engine warning light on Mazda MPV 2002

There seem to be 4 sensors along the way in the air intake and emissions system.

My Check Engine light indicated a bad sensor 1, bank 2 code (I think).

I had my mechanic replace the sensor that was indicated as faulty... cost = $191.

Then the Check Engine light came on again (with a different code), and I had to leave the van with him all day.

Cost to replace and install that sensor = $115.

My advice: if the Check Engine light stays on *AND* your vehicle is riding rough, get it fixed.

Otherwise, put a piece of tape over that Check Engine light and save a couple hundred dollars!

Hope this helps, I do trust my mechanic fully.

Check gauges and no oil pressure in 03 ram hemi 4x4

Had the truck the truck to the shop and they said it was the sensor. I had it replaced and it hasn't screwed up since. If you search out this problem on the net, this is a problem with engine and its oil pressure sensor. Apparently, Chrysler is aware of the problem.

Oil ligth

It can be either electrical short or mechanical trouble.  Have the oil pressure test done on the car at two different sites - one in the engine block near the valve cover and another in the top of oil filter housing.  If the pressure is in the normal range, then it's electrical short.  If it isn't in the normal range, it is either something is blocking the oil from circulating or needs bearing replacement.

A quick (but not accurate) test would be to have the car running and check the oil level.  If the oil level remains constant, then the oil might not be circulating (which is why manuals often say check the oil when the engine is not running).  Be careful not to drive it if it looks like that the oil isn't circulating because it could lead to serious damage (in other words, engine rebuilding with bearing replacement).
