Hazard lights flashing and alarm sounding. How do I stop these?

Every car brand and model has its procedure to stop the flashing light and alarm sounding.
But still the common procedure is Make sure boot and bonnet are closed properly.

It can also be a switch, but check your alarm by locking yourself inside the car, and then press the close button on the key 2 times repeatedly until the lock control on the door doesn't make anything. Then open the door by pushing the lever or open the hood . If the horn sounds and the lights blink your alarm is ok , if only the lights blink you should take it to dealer. You can stop the hazard lights and horn sound by pressing the unlock button on the key.

3 series 55 reg bmw. alarm keeps going off, dash says bonnet is open but its not. thanks

Sounds like the bonnet switch might be going out. You have an electrical contact switch that tells the alarm computer if the bonnet is open or closed. Either a miss adjusted or worn switch will send a false signal to the computer making it think it is open when it is not, you will also want to check the wiring that goes to the switch for signs of chaffing or kinks as the wire itself could get and send a false signal.

My BMW 1 series keeps saying the bonnet is open when its not, and the alarm keeps flashing up on the dash. Any help?.

Check the bonnet pin (small switch that is pushed in and out by the bonnet opening and closing) which tells the computer if the bonnet is open or close, maybe its faulty or broken and the computer thinks the open is always open even though its closed.

Your Alarm sensor is set to high *sensitivity level*...either have sensor adjusted or disconnect

ALARM GOES OFF ON ITS OWN. IT DOES NOT RESET.

try this:

1. find the trunk (boot) sensor (plunger) and tape it in the down position.

2. recharge the battery.

3. close the trunk and rearm the alarm.

4. listen for the alarm to go off. if it does proceed to step 6. if not see step 5.

5. the travel is too large for this trunk sensor. must have been caused by the accident. you can build up the area with some velcro or tape where the plunger meets the metal to make the travel less, thus making the alarm system think the trunk is not opened when the trunk is closed. or this sensor was damaged by the accident which will to be replaced.

6. the trunk sensor is not the problem. untape it and proceed to the hood (bonnet) sensor. tape it down and repeat steps 1-4 for the hood sensor.

7. keep repeating on the other sensors (doors, fuel door) until you find the sensor causing the problem.

good luck

Car alarm goes off for no reason.

Common fault is the bonnet sensor, when this happens to me I open the bonnet press the sensor plunger a few times, it fixes it for a while. Get this checked or replaced .
