LOCATION OF MAP SENSOR ON 2011 VW JETTA

if you follow the big hose that comes off the left hand side of the intake manifold it leads downward to the side mounted intercooler. The MAP sensor is bolted onto the inner side of the intercooler. You have to unscrew the inner wheel well cover on that side and remove the front fender to get in there to the intercooler area. You can take the front wheel off or turn it full one way to get better access. The intercooler sits on the side of the car and fits between the turbocharger (mounted on the back of the engine) and the intake manifold. I'm sure there's a diy somewhere - probably a DIY for changing boost hoses. Last edited by AgGTI; 10-17-2010 at 04:13 PM.

Check this out with performance shops as there may be an intercooler that fits straight in. You may have to get brackets in a kit or make them yourself. The problem will the routing of the intercooling hoses to and from the turbo/manifold . Front mounted intercooler are more efficient at cooling the air so the only problem I can see apart from the engineering side of fitting it is that you may have to have a speed shop with a chassis dyno reprogram the CPU to get the best performance from the cooler more dense air.

R&r starter to 2006 cobalt ls

Park your Chevy Cobalt on a level surface, activate the emergency brake and place blocks behind the back tires for safety. Disconnect the negative battery cable with a terminal puller. Raise the front end of the car with a jack for easier access to the starter.
Remove the intercooler pump's outer bracket in models with a 2.0L engine. Place the bolt, and all other nuts and bolts, into the jar for safekeeping until later.
Disconnect the starter electrical connections, including the S-terminal and positive battery cable. Label the wires if you have concern about remembering where they go when you install the new starter.
Unscrew the starter mounting bolts and remove the starter from the vehicle's engine.
Take your malfunctioning starter to the parts store with you. Aftermarket distributors remanufacture most of the starters they sell, so you can likely obtain a partial credit toward your new starter by exchanging your old one. Be sure that you take care not to damage the starter in transit, because the better condition it is in, the more you can get for it.
Purchase a replacement starter that has the same or higher cranking capacity (power rating) as the original starter. Also, match the bolt patterns, drive gears and electrical connections. Your owner's manual may list specifications or the auto parts technician will help you determine them. Download a free owner's manual by registering with the Chevy Owner Center (see Resources).
Install the new starter by reversing the removal process. Torque the starter mounting bolts to 37 foot pounds (50 Nm). Tighten the bolt for the intercooler pump bracket to 15 foot pounds (20 Nm).
Lower your Cobalt back to the ground. Reconnect the negative battery cable. Turn the key in the ignition to see if your new starter motor functions correctly.

How to remove intercooler

You have to modify the mounts to make the SRT4 FMIC fit in the PT. Which year do you have? With the '06 and up PT's you have to do some very minor mods to the front bumper cover for it to fit, but it mounts perfectly.

Now, before you do any upgrades to the IC, you need to make sure you have converted from factory pipes to steel (stainless preferred) up-pipes, and especially the hot-pipe. You'll be wasting the extra cooling capabilities with a larger IC if you don't upgrade those crappy rubber pipes.

Installing aftermarket bov

if ur not changing ur turbo DONT TUCH THE WASTE GATE OR ITS HOSES!!!!! that part is only to reroute the xsaust gazzes to slow the turbo when the throttle is closed, as for the BOV or blow off valve mount it somewhere on ur pipeing that goes to your INTAKE of the motor it is there so when ur throttle snaps closed when u come off the gas pedel to shift, the pressurized air from the turbo can go out and away from the throttle usaly after the intercooler and before the throlltle body if u got the room for it also depending on the install and turbo setup, and computer, the car might tend to stall (MABY!) Depending on what kind of air metering you car uses, will dictate which is the best form of BOV, whether recurculated, or vented.

As for placement, the best place is usually as close to the throttle body as possible, that way as soon as the throttle plate closes air is evacuated...but having said that if you are recirulating, its a bit more plumbing to get that to work right...but anywhere AFTER the intercooler is good... and for the vacume hose any free vacume nipple on the intake manafold u might find one with a rubber cap or somthing of a blocker, if no nipple is availble buya Y type fitting at an auto store to doubble a used one HOPE THIS HELPS
