It shouldnt be the battery. The battery power is used to start the vehicle. If it cuts off after starting then it could be the alternator.

My bronco will not turn over you can cut the key on and everything works then go to start and it all cuts off any ideas? do i need a new starter?

You will have to start by making sure you have a good connection on the battery. And sometimes it is not just the post and battery terminal. It can be where the cable connects to the terminal as well. Clean them all up good and see if you still have the same problem

My car was running fine all day yesterday until that night. I cut it off and it wouldnt start back up. Finally i got someone to give me a jump off and it worked but the dash lights kept on dimming in and...

You, my friend have a flat battery.

However, replacing the battery will not fix the problem, the battery is just a symptom, just like having cough syrup won't fix a cold, it will ojnly make your throat feel better.

What you need to do, is replace the battery, then get a multimeter, and check the voltage of the battery when the car is running at idle (in park/neutral), it should be 13.2-14.4v. If below this, im suspecting 12.0v or below, then you will have to have your charging system (alternator) checked.

Intermittent starting problem

Did you replace ignition leads? What about air intake leaks. Air = fuel. No air = no fuel = no start.

Car is 1994volvo 960 sedan it sometimes won't start

It's the shift interlock. Press th release button on the shifter and agressively move it back and forth. That should solve the problem.

My car sometimes wont start and when it does it cuts out and dies

Put a voltmeter on battery. It should say something like 12 volts. Start motor and see if you have about 14.5 volts while running. If not your charging system has failed.
