SOURCE: How do I reset brake pad warning indicator light

you have to replace the brake pads, and make sure the sensors are connected.
make sure your pads have sensor and are connected properly. if your pads don't have a wire you have pads without sensors and that is why the light stays on.

SOURCE: Service Traction System Light on 2003 Chev Impala

on the rotors you probably noticed two lines one for the brakes and the other is your traction control magnet which picks up a signal to tell the computer to control the braking system when the wheel locks up in hard braking, you either damaged the magnet or it picked up some metal shaving while replacing the brake pads

SOURCE: Yellow DSC and Brake light on... recently changed brake pads

Abs and dsc are related and with the light on these won't work. It is possible that you need to go back to where the work was done to look this over.

SOURCE: Changed brake pads and fluid. Brake light/ABS light still lit.

Go back around and check to make sure you didnt accidentally pinch or cut a brake pad sensor. Also the ABS modules on VAG cars are pretty crappy.

2009 Suzuki swift hatchback automatic 40000km and squealing brake noise and engine light is on why?

The two matters are unrelated. The squeaking brakes are because you need new brake pads, if you have new pads... the mechanic failed to use brake shim grease which stops the squeak. In severe cases, the front disc brakes may be scored... scratched deeply and require replacement. If you replace the front disc pads, replace the rear brake shoes as well! The service engine light is timed by your dealer to remind you when to take your car in for a service check. Many models have a sequence of steps that one can find on-line to reset the service indicator light back to re-zero the count.

Audi A6 dash break indicator light came on. I had pads installed last Sept. Is it ok to drive till i get it serviced?

It should be okay. If you can, take a look through your rims at your brakes, and try to see how much pad is still present in contact with the rotor. The indicator light is only a warning to get you to change the brakes.

When do i need to change my brake pads on 116i bmw?

Stick to what your dealer tells you. The brake lining indicator lights when the pads are so thin the rivets will start eating into the rotors in about 1000km.

Brake pad warning light on golf gti 1.8t 1999 t reg

Brake wear indicator and low brake fluid warning indication are two different circuits.

They are not related.

==
Easy route to check brake pads is the measure the gab between the rotor and the metal portion of the brake pad.

If it's low then replace it.
==

The right way is to pull the tires and measure the thickness of the remaining brake pad.

===

Most shop give free brake inspection with oil change,

Check it out before the pad cuts into the rotor and it will DOUBLE the cost of your brake job.

Bmw 1 serise require information on how to rest

turn on the ignition (not starting) and then press the littlie button in front of the odometer display for 10 seconds until you see the service indicator menu. use the stalk on the left and the up and down control to scroll thru to the front and rear brake pad picture and then press the end button on the stalk for 3 seconds until reset comes up, then it will show a little click spinning around, then release and press for another 3 seconds. This will extinguish the brake service light. This is the same for all service lights, but remember to turn off the ignition on and off for each reset Ie: for brake, for oil, for pollen etc. If not it might not recognize the reset. The pads on the 116i or should I say the indicator is crapo, in a extra crapo sense as it has at least 10k miles on the pad but the wear indicator shows it as need replacing, The handbrake light on symbol will be amber then red and stay on all the time until the sensor and pads are changed. Pads and sensor must be replaced together as sensor has resistance built into it it will be around 500ohms ( I think) when it has just touched and less with more wear, the new sensor is probably 1k ohms from each wire ie from one wire to the other = 1k ohms.In short the pad wear indicator is a rip off, there is a lot of life left in the pad when the sensor goes off. I estimate just above 1/3 left but more like just below 1/2.... BMW STICKING TO YOU AGAIN.
