the pcv valve is a one piece part(positive crankcase ventilation) its located on the valve covers and has a hose attached to it that goes to the air intake hose of the air breather. this is a simple installation. the pcv valve just slips into a grommet in the valve cover and can be pulled out and pushed back in with out any tools. please rate this... thanks

if i know what you are asking, look at where you put your oil in. on the valve cover to the top right should be a plug with a tubeing runs to your air clear tube where the air mass sensor and carb is located. i think that is what you are looking for.

Location of pcv valve 95 nissan KA 24 engine hardbody

Follow the breather hose(s) to where they meet the engine and that is where the pcv valve is usually to be found if your engine has one; valve cover, crankcase or inlet manifold are the likely locations.

Not all engines use a pcv valve. Many engines just have a tiny hole into the inlet manifold which typically soon blocks and needs cleaning.

Ford was one of the manufacturers who in the early days of a pcv system being required, used an oil filler cap to attach the breather system to and the tiny hole was inside the cap along with the flame trap and oil mist filter.
That like many of the plastic pcv valves was intended to be a throw-away item.

I hope I have helped you a little.

The PCV valve is located under the intake manifold on the non-hybrid 2.5L engine. The intake manifold MUST be removed in order to service the PCV valve.
The PCV valve sits in the crankcase vent oil separator.

There's no PCV valve on these engines. The crank ventilation is built into the valve cover.

Where is the PCV valve located on a 2001 VW Beetle Turbo, 1.8L?

All these answers are WRONG!!! The PCV valve isn't located anywhere near the valve cover but underneath the Intake manifold behind the secondary air pump. The PCV hose starts just to the right of the base of the Oil dipstick tube and leads to the right (driver side) to a rubber T. The PCV valve is actually inside this T. You have to unscrew the clamps and carefully pull out the old Plastic PCV insert/valve and replace it with a new one. Most of the time you will also have to replace the hoses since they will be full of sludge/crud and may have gotten brittle from the heat of the 1.8 engine. It is very difficult to access the PCV valve on the 1.8 engine and unless you have doublejointed hands you may need to remove the intake manifold to get to it. But some have done it without removing the intake manifold. Here is a link to some pictures of the location of the PCV valve which in case is an insert residing in that rubber T. http://newbeetle.org/forums/1-8-liter-turbo/45626-pcv-valve-location-2000-beetle-1-8t.html

Changing PCV valve

you pcv valve should be located on the top or around the intake on top of the engine. It is covered by a little pcv valve rubber hose...it is easy to identify because it is similar to a radiator hose but a lot smaller...no where near the size of a radiator hose...but when located, the pcv valve just pulls out and to check for it being bad, shake it and it should sound like something loose inside the pcv valve (thats a good pcv valve) but what they look like, they should be a silver looking color with a small little neck on it

Where is the pcv valve located on a 1999 ford explorer? Is there a picture?

PCV BasicsPCV stands for Positive Crankcase Ventilation.
All car engines have a PCV valve and it is located on top of the motor's valve cover. There is a vacuum line attached to it. It pulls out of the valve cover and if you shake it, you should hear a marble knocking inside it. If you shake it and don't hear anything, it's bad. It costs less than 5 bucks to replace.

Location
  • 4.0L is located in the valve cover near the brake booster

  • 5.0L is located behind the intake manifold (engine rear)
