Check fuses 28 and 34. I don't have all the diagrams, but it may be that the pump or injectors use a different fuse for start versus run.

Check you fuel pump pressure when keying the vehicle up, valve is located on fuel rail, may not have enough to start but when running and the injectors are pilsing, may flow. I would start there.

Cranks, no start on 97 GMC van with 350 Vortec. Fired up with starter fluid

if it starts with starter fluid then its a fuel problem. check the fuel pressure and volume with a gage. these require at least 56lbs pressure to open the injectors and if the pressure is at 52lbs the they will not open. these use the pressure to open the poppet injectors and have a problem with the spider lines cracking and leaking fuel inside the intake. this is probably why it won`t start on its own.

I currently have a 2001 l series Saturn that is turning over but will not start. Any suggestions? thank

It could be a clogged fuel filter or a bad fuel pump. To check if its the fuel pump, get some starting fluid, remove the air intake and squirt some down in the intake. You'll need a helper for this one. Have him try to start it while you spray. If it starts and runs only for a moment your fuel pump is bad.

1966 Mustang I6 starting problem

Sounds like the fuel pump, clogged fuel filter, or a stuck needle and seat in the carburator.

Hard starting or will not start every time

With the vehicle turned off: spray some starter fluid into your intake. You'll have to take off the hose from your air filter assembly to do this. After you spray some starter fluid reinstall the hose to your intake. And try to start your vehicle. If it starts every time you do this and runs without issues. Then you could have a clogged fuel filter or the fuel pump is going out.

Won't start

there is several things that could cause this car not to start: battery not charged, seloniod underneath the hood could be bad, get a can of starter fluid and spray a small amount into the throttle body while someone is trying to start the car if the car starts and runs till it runs out of fluid that means your fuel pump maybe bad but check out the fuel pump relay first
