First of all thank you very much for your help. I'll keep that one for future reference. But I was able to remove the rear speaker pannel and speaker to see the inner workings of the window and I noticed that there is a little white rectangular plastic piece that is damaged. This is the piece that the regulator wire run through and connects to the glass through the track. I believe it is called window regulator guide. Because this guide is damaged on one it doens't stay straight with the wire, thus it gets stuck when trying to go though a metal loop about half way on the track. When it gets stuck the window comes back down. Now the question is, where can I get this rectangular white plastic piece? I have a picture of it.

Were you able to locate the white rectangular piece? If so where cause I have the same issue. The dealership says they don't sell this part and need to replace the entire regulator.

Has anyone been able to find a source that stocks this piece? I am currently experiencing the same problem

Try this, put the key in door and unlock/hold over will go down, then lock/hold over, windows will go up.this resets the windows auto trap mech.(kids fingers)if you still have a problem also try using silicon spray on the runners.NOT THE GLASS.....

1. Put the key in the driver's door keyhole.
2. Turn the key counterclockwise, and hold until windows go all the way down.

Audi a4 convertible 2005 rear passenger window goes down but not fully

Could be a couple of things. One would be the regulator is worn out/ going bad. Two would be the thermo protection in the motor is going out. Either way, you will have to replace the whole unit. Regulator and motor. They don't come separate.

1988 Mazda rx7 window won't raise or lower

Its either the switch or the window regulator. They all 'live' on the passenger side by the way. I have had both replaced on passenger side over the years on my '88 convertible and guess what? Passenger side window decided not to go up today..down yes..up no so I hope its just a switch. She goes into the hospital Monday. Good luck with yours.

How do u know if its d regulator or motor that goes out on a window. If d rear passenger on a 03 Audi a 4

If you can raise and lower the window by hand, then it's the regulator. 9 times out of 10 it will be the regulator. I have a 2003 A4 and both rear window regulators are broken.

The rear right-side passenger window goes down, but not back up. I can pull it up and it stays within an inch of the top.

The problem you describe is caused by a failed/broken window operator mechanism. The fix requires the window operator mechanism to be replaced. You can search on for a DIY thread describing replacement of the window operator, or have an independent Audi repair shop or the Audi Dealer replace the window operator mechanism. The parts cost about $150.

05 audi a4 convertible top goes half way up and stops. Won't go farther or back down

Happened to me while parking on a slight incline...moving to flat surface alleviated problem. However, my top stuck in down position so dealer replaced the module for $750...probably should be a recall item.

By using the window master switch method, it reset the computer and the roof went all the way down and locked.

Rear window on convertible goes half way up and then down again

I had the same problem. If your beetle comes with pinch protection on the windows (like mine) it will automatically roll back down if anything gets in the way when it rolls up. Try and check to see if anything is in the way causing this to happen.
