Question about 1994 Honda Civic Del Sol

Speedometer/Odometer trouble Hello, I am the proud owner of a '94 Honda Del Sol SRS, but ever since purchasing the car, the Speedometer has began to slowly stop working. It stopped working completely almost a year ago. I have replaced the VSS and checked all fuses. I took out the dashboard and reseated all of the wiring, but to no avail. I'm kinda apprehensive about taking it to the shop because of the price factor, but I was hoping for a way to get it done fairly quickly because my son needs the car for his driving test. Any advice to be given?

speedometer works but trip meter stopped, turning reset button then pushing to reset sometimes gets it back working but more often does not. resets to zero but doesn't restart. happened within about 40 miles after buying the vehicle. otherwise great car - 1997 honda del sol si.

Our solution was getting the speedo replaced - costly but worth it as well as the rest of the replacements we did so we now have a great running car with reliable parts - there were quite a few including a new water pump which turned out to have a leak and had to be re-replaced pretty darn quick much to the dismay of the mechanics since they had to pull everything out to get to it again - but at no cost to us. It was worth the $$$$ to know we have a good reliably working vehicle.

Those are odd questions. What I would do is run your car to a shop like Hibdons or Meineke where you can take the car in and get an estimate on the car to see how much it costs to fix, along with paperwork listing what parts you're needing, their jacked up prices, and how much more they're charging you for labor. Nah, I just needed an estimate ;)

1996 honda del sol abs light stays on

If the ABS light is on, you have either a failing ABS (wheelspeed) sensor, or a bad ABS control module. You'll need a diagnostic scan to find out which it is. As for the owner's manual, there are a number of online owner's forums that will probably have the manual or at least the same information posted, or you can search eBay for one - they're common finds there.

I have a 1994 Honda De sol the air bag light stays on all the time. I want to know if I should be worried about the light staying on or not. Does that mean the air bag doesn't work or something is wrong...

Hello eggsover. When the airbag light is on, other than when you first start it, it means there is a problem in the supplemental restraint system (SRS). Not likely the airbag would go off if in a collision.
It is possible when the radio was installed a connector or a wire was damaged or pulled apart. You could pull the radio out and inspect behind it for that. If nothing visible there then the SRS will need to be scanned by a devise capable of retrieving the code or codes that will lead to the source of the problem.

Tranny prob Honda Del Sol

this is what a automatic trans does when it is failing, it will need to be torn down and inspected for worn and damaged parts, there are any number of things that cause this, leaking valve body, front pump O ring leaking, u will most likely need it rebuilt.
