Some early model vehicles like yours have a boot & engine bay light. It's quite common that these do not switching off once the compartment is not closed. Disconnecting these maybe a good start. Another trial you could try is to remove different fuses each time it is parked up at night then each morning put the fuse back in and then check battery voltage. This takes time but it's worth a go remembering there is also fuses under the bonnet besides in the vehicle

90% of the time an aftermarket radio will cause that proble, but if you have any aftermarket stuf in the car unplug everithing and try.

power TO the alt. is probably not there . turn on the key ( don't start ) check the terminals on the plug at the alt. there should be power on at least one terminal if not , you have found the problem

I changed the out side regulator on my ford econoline E150,had the alternater checked and it's good.so what could make it stick when i'm trying to start it.it draines the battery down when it dont turn...

Sounds like the starter is probably fried, and draining the battery. I assume the battery is good? If you aren't sure, try disconnecting the battery for the night, and see if it goes dead

Have to charge battery after it has sat for 6 plus hours. We have new alternater and battery. They work good. Any idea as to what could be draining battery? Checked all fuses.

its obvious there is a drain somewhere was this problem present before the battery and alternator change,if so suspect one of the new parts .but if not then start by removing the negative terminal and place a test light across the connection the test light might light up due to small power uses like clock in vehicle. but if its very bright then start pulling fuses until it goes out or dims down find what that fuse goes to and you have you culprit.

Istalled another alternater yet my battery is still going flat.

change or charge the battery and make sure you install the correct alternator capable of supplying the correct amps your car needs otherwise it wont charge correctly/ check your electrical wiring it must be grounded somewhere or the connection is incorrect thats why ur battery drains...

Something is drawing power from the battery constantly

PUT A TEST LIGHT FROM THE GROUND POST OF YOUR BATTERY TO THE GROUND CABLE CLAMP.REMOVE THE CLAMP FROM THE BATTERY AND THE LIGHT WILL LIGHT IF THERE IS A DRAIN.START UNPLUGGING STUFF [START WITH THE ALTERNATOR] AND WHEN YOU GET TO THE DRAW THE LIGHT WILL GO OUT. TRY PULLING FUSES TO NARROW DOWN THE CIRCUT.WHEN THE LIGHT GOES OUT CHECK THE OWNERS MANUAL TO SEE ALL COMPONENTS THAT YOU NEED TO CHECK. MOST OF THE TIME THERE IS A DIODE GONE IN THE ALTERNATER CAUSEING A 4 AMP DRAIN,IT WILL NEED A RECTIFIER PUT IN IT.HOPE THIS HELPS.

Can't start my cron vic 1998 battery sign comes on and off but battery is good alternater is good

i have a 1999 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. you have a short in your wiring harness leading to your battery. this happens every time with these cars, good battery-good starter-good alternator but car still wont turn over because the power from the battery isnt able go directly to the motor. check your relay circuits and harness.

If the battery is new.

If you jump start it but then it will not start after being run then the alternator could be your problem. Alternatively the ECU could be another problem.
